Location of the hotel (similar to the two other properties) is directly at the ski slope. So, you can just leave the hotel and literally 10m later get on the lift. This was a great experience. The staff is friendly, and they provide you with a free shuttle to the train station as well as a free locker to store your skis.
Set in Hachimantai in the Iwate region, with Appi Kogen Ski Resort nearby, Appikogen Pension Mutti offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Very Friendly host, with very good english if your Japanese is lacking!
Free daily transport to and from the ski field. Though I did walk a few times due to my own circumstances, only 20 minutes for me.
Located 40 km from Morioka Station, Pension Entre - deux - Mers offers 2-star accommodation in Hachimantai and features a garden.

Amazing hosts, sweet, attentive and patient, doing everything they could to communicate with us (who couldn’t speak enough Japanese) and help us make the most of our short stay.
Rooms are traditional and cosy, a truly wonderful place to stay.
Great little town. I didn't see any other foreign tourists while I was there and everyone was very friendly, especially on the hiking trails. Some good outdoor activities available but need a car to get around as they are rather far from the city center.

The roads to this mountain is breath taking.
The roads to this mountain is breath taking. I would love to take my bicycle and ride there. The walk from the carpark at the tope of the mountain is very easy.
It takes about 20-30 minutes to the peak. There are few walking trails at the top of the mountain.
The car park cost 500yen.
