Hi! We loved everything about our stay at the guesthouse in Yamatohama! Great guesthouse in a lovely village. Amazing nature, waterfalls, and beaches at Amami. Snorkeling, kayaking, and SUPing can be done in the bay area of Yamatohama (at the guesthouse). Really nice accommodation. Great breakfast—we loved the traditional Japanese chicken rice soup! We also highly recommend the BBQ at the guesthouse. This was by far our favorite guesthouse and location in Japan! The owner and staff are amazing. We miss you all!

I had a lovely time staying here. I only wish I had planned to stay longer. The host is extremely kind and even offered to show me around, which I was very grateful for as I didn't have a car. He also made sure that I had the right directions for my excursions and takes very good care of his guests. I highly, highly recommend this place. I hope I can stay there again someday!

After being discharged from Amami-Oshima hospital after a serious car accident this hotel was very accomodating in allowing me a super early check in and gave me a very large room with views over the harbour to recover for a few days. Although the hotel is probably only positioned in about the 2.5/5 hotel budget bracket - the friendly, accomodating and helpful staff make up for that for sure. For Yen1200 the breakfast was good with views across the harbour. This hotel is positioned the closest to the ferry terminal of any hotel - only about a <3min walk away and great for very early morning ferry departures.
