+ the rice served at dinner time was super yummy and u can ask for refills! + loved the offering of different types of apple juice at check-in and during meals + stayed in room 101 and enjoyed sitting by my own private zen garden (although u look up to a view of the neighbouring house but fortunately didn’t see anyone looking down at me) + very comfortable bed set up by staff after dinner + the bathroom is shared but really big and it was nice soaking in the tub + wifi worked well + staff were friendly + easy drive to Iwakiyama Shrine and Iwaki Skyline (but otherwise there’s nothing much to see/do in the vicinity)

Finally able to book a hotel in Goshogawara! The best decision to stay here. So peaceful even the Golden Week started. Never felt rush and enjoy the view the majestic Mt Iwaki at the restaurant. The onsen relieve your body pain from walking! The food is huge. Even extended my stay here at it closer to my destinations

My family and I enjoyed our stay. If we are near the area again, we will most definitely stay in this facility. It is clean and located near the mall.

I was attracted to the location on the Aomori Springs Ski area and the side of Mt. Iwaki. It did not disappoint! The view of the mountain and the Sea of Japan were amazing. The open-air section of the Onsen was wonderful as it had a view of the sea and the stars at night. The breakfast and dinner (included in my room plan) had both Western and Japanese options, and both were delicious. During the summer, the bar on the 2nd floor is closed, but there was a mini-bar in the Bistro during dinner to get wine, beer, or sake.

20 miles from Hirosaki Castle in Ajigasawa, Hotel Grand Mer Sankaiso offers accommodations with access to a sauna, hot spring bath, and public bath.

So many nice things that it is hard to know where to start. There is a lounge area with large picture windows and a nice collection of snacks and drinks to partake of as you look at the beautiful views. In the evening they have a shamisen player. There is a small Shinto shrine at the corner of the lawn and picnic tables if you want to sit outside. The on-sen area was lovely with great amenities and an outdoor bath with views out to the Sea of Japan. The food was excellent. It was mostly buffet style but beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, both at breakfast and dinner. We stayed three nights and, for guests who stay more than one night they have local specialties cooked at you table. On the first night it was abalone and on the second it was beef and onions. We got a real kick out of all the apple juices and products available (Aomori is known for its apples).

I did not use the restaurants at the hotel but the location being at the train station offers convenience. The concept of the establishment is quite a break through of the conventional hotel service where the guest can settle into the “medical wellness” programme.
