The hotel was only a short walk away from the station. The room (including the bathroom) was nice and clean. Breakfast was fulfilling, from Sukiya, which is located on the ground floor. The staff kindly helped us get a taxi in the early morning to get to the ferry terminal for Sado Island.

The rooms are larger than average. The hotel is built right along Niigata’s Shinano river and commands exceptional views.
The Serina Restaurant for breakfast was OK for us; however, its offerings are more skewed towards Japanese selections.
The Nikko Hotel chain is very reputable and we’ve used them in the past which make us select this hotel , however, this hotel has one major shortcomings as noted below.
Overlooking the Shinano River in the heart of Niigata, Hotel Okura features a 15th-floor French restaurant and concierge services.

The hotel is aged, after 24 hours,you realised that they design for wedding party…poor me to have to put out with 3 nights stay. Admittedly my own mistake in planning. But the staff was very friendly and well mannered.the o
