Fukui Manten Hotel Ekimae, hotel in Fukui

Set in Fukui, within less than 1 km of Fukui International Activities Plaza and 2 km of Phoenix Plaza, Fukui Manten Hotel Ekimae offers a spa and wellness centre.

Loved that it's located next to the train station. I assume most tourists go to Fukui for the dino museum, so having the hotel be so close to the station was a major bonus. I also loved the area as there were good places to eat and drink at night.

JR Fukui is still new and modern and not crowded. Very recommend going to Fukui Dinosaur Museum (should buy ticket online in advance) and ECHIZEN DAIBUTSU (GREAT BUDDHA) in the same day with ECHIZEN-RAILWAY-KATSUYAMA-EIHEIJI-LINE Day pass 1,200 yen only.

Fukui has plenty of local cuisine such as Europe-ken Headquarters' pork cutlets and seasonal seafood bounties along the Echizen coastline which we enjoyed. We also attended a Washi paper workshop art routine which is a wonderful experience at short notice. The unassuming hospitality of the people whom we met there is also a plus factor for us during our tour in Tojinbo area and at our stay in Minshuku Inn. We shall certainly be planning a return trip in the future in another season such as the Autumn period. Thanks to Mr Iwase our attentive host during our 2 nights stay.

Maybe a little more English language information be available. But as majority of guests are Japanese the need for foreign language is not critical. The staff all tried their best to communicate efficiently with me

Fukui is worth visiting in sakura season as their hundreds of cherry blossom trees that line the river are spectacular - in the day time but also lit up at night. The Tojinbo coast line, dinosaur museum and Eiheiji temple are worth a visit but these are out the city. All accessible by train/bus if you don't have a car. I loved being by the sea in the Tojinbo area.
