this is practically a home stay. the owner picked me up from Matsumoto station and back to shirojiri station. I had japanese dinner with the whole family and speak to them in japanese they were sweet and very open. I booked the dormitory but since it had only a a male guest they let me stay at another private room inside the old japanese house.

The hotel was perfect for our needs! We stayed here after hiking the Nakasendo Trail.
Communication was great since before the check-in process, when i was inquiring about my luggage forwarding.
My luggage was already in our room when we arrived. We stayed for only one night, but we slept very well and had a wonderful shower. The water is very hot, and with a strong pressure, amenities are provided in the room and even yukatas. The bed was firm. There was an additional blanket, which was great (but not needed, just personal preference). The heater in the room was very effective, and we stayed warm and cosy.
Free small breakfast available (bread, butter, jam, yogurt, coffee and tea). It was just what we needed before heading to our next destination in Japan.
Shiojiri is a great quick stop, and the hotels location is very convenient. There are many great izakayas and restaurants nearby, too! I'd definitely recommend it.

Absolutely immaculate this place, so clean and fresh and perfect location near the bus station and train station and main eateries and Lawson store on the corner. Lots of toiletries/towels/ free lounge sets the hotel offers is a bonus.
