We spent the night here to visit Takeda Castle, as well as Ritsuunkyo Mountain, which is only one train stop away.
The owners were extremely polite, genuinely friendly, and chatty!
The rooms were traditional Japanese in style and very clean. The bathroom was separate, but we had it entirely to ourselves.
There is also a bath, which you can use privately or share with the person staying in the same room.
The accommodation was very comfortable overall.
It was raining as we were leaving, the owners kindly drove us to the station!

I like the vibes, feel like I am a guest in someone’s house. There are even fresh flowers in the room. The staff (family) was very friendly and attentive. I wanted to book unkai tour but unfortunately weather was not good. They sent me to Takeda station for the castle ruins instead which was well appreciated. Get the dinner option, it’s good plus save the hassle of looking for food in small town which can be difficult.

Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The location, bang in the town centre and near the footpath up to the castle ruins, was perfect. It is so nice to find a historic building restored and used in this way! It was a real treat to stay there.
