Really conveniently located to Miyajima for a day trip. Traditional room and bed which is a nice experience. The private onsen was epic and worth paying the extra to experience on the trip. Also enjoyed the boat ride over to Miyajima thought the commentary is all Japanese. Views of the island and water were excellent particularly for sunset. Good size room.

We had an amazing stay here. The location was quiet and well located. Although the hotel is a bit older, it’s extremely well-maintained and full of charm. Our room was beautiful, and the futon beds were much more comfortable than expected. We also loved the comfy yukatas provided. The public bath/onsen was small, but we had it all to ourselves when we went, which made for a peaceful experience. The included dinner and breakfast were fantastic! We requested a vegetarian meal for one of us before arriving, and it was no problem at all - the vegetarian menu was just as varied and delicious as the standard one. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. After check-out, we were able to leave our luggage at the reception for a few hours. When we picked it up, they even offered us a free taxi ride to the ferry terminal.

Superb staff service and attitude. Food was excellent. The Onsen next door was a bonus. The Dinner was amazing and pushed our boundaries (in a good way) a little.

The view is unbeatable, being able to see the Tori from the room was really special. The location was great for us because we like to be away from the hustle of the main pedestrian area. The hotel picked us up and dropped us off at the port, so we didn't have to struggle with our bags at all.
I love Japanese style ryokan (and have stayed in a quite a few over the last decade), and this checked all the boxes (tatami, ofuro, kaiseki dinner etc.). It was my husbands first time in Japan and I wanted him to experience all this with me and he enjoyed it as much as I did :)
