The staff were liars, they were price gouging during a Hurricane knowing people were stuck, they showed no compassion, the cleaning of the rooms stopped unless you were tipping money and on the first day it took almost 3 hours for me to get one extra towel and washcloth.

Lovely part of jamaica. People are friendly and helpful.
Lovely part of jamaica. People are friendly and helpful. Loved going into town with the route taxi. Street food is lovely and well cooked. Great souvenir shops and supermarkets. Easy to get around the town. If your not a driver I advise getting route taxi so your not paying tooo much.

This is not a resort town, per se.
This is not a resort town, per se. Although there are nearby resorts, life here is island life. It's REAL life. It seemed pretty safe, but it's not the pristine space you might find within most larger resorts (i.e. trash, free-roaming farm animals, loose dogs, etc.) The people, however, were very friendly and willing to engage and help if you asked. Always ask a local where to eat if you want to know where to get the best and most authentic (and fresh!) meals.

Lucea is not a tourist town and it is not trying to be one.
Lucea is not a tourist town and it is not trying to be one. It was a great glimpse of Jamaica off the beaten path. But, it is somewhat difficult to navigate in terms of dining options (few sit down restaurants) and there isn't many attractions. There is a nice small local beach, but no amenities. If you are staying in Lucea, I can highly recommend the Blue Paloma Bed and Breakfast.

I liked the entire Villa, it was clean.
I liked the entire Villa, it was clean. Looked just like the pics. Everything to stay there was there. I loved that it was in a gated community, people I met were friendly. Walking around the neighborhood was safe. I would like to see more plants and flowers on the outside, also a pool in the backyard would be nice because it’s big enough. Overall I’m looking forward to returning to Hamilton.
