The hotel was in a good location overlooking the waterfront, all of the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. I was given a free upgrade on arrival to a suite which was very large and spacious if a little dated. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep.
The pool area was very nice and the pool bar staff were very attentive and friendly.
The buffet breakfast was of good quality with plenty of choice.
My only negative experience of this hotel was the excursion I booked via the concierge. I only had one afternoon available for leisure time so with limited time I opted for a trip to the Bib Marley museum. The trip I was told included transportation to and from the museum and tour of Kingston. I was taken by taxi from the hotel to the museum, there was no tour of the city. On arrival the taxi driver had no intention of waiting and when I asked how would I get back he advised me to ask the museum staff to call a taxi for me. I continued with the tour was very interesting and well worth a visit. At the conclusion there was no taxi to take me back to the hotel. I asked the staff to call the hotel but could not get through to them. I had to arrange another taxi who then had to be paid separately by the concierge. To be fair she was apologetic and I think she had been let down by the original taxi driver and she did her best to put things right by giving me a small refund of the cost of the trip.
Overall the ROK hotel was reasonable value for money, staff were friendly and amenities were of good standard.
