Hotel San Lino, hotel in Volterra

Hotel San Lino is set within the medieval walls of Volterra, a 5-minute walk from Piazza dei Priori. It offers a garden with outdoor swimming pool and panoramic sun terrace.

Despite us being late arrival (late ferry), the lady on reception was so friendly and helpful. The room was delightful, large, with a small balcony overlooking the hills and the swimming pool. We really enjoyed the location, being near to the old town. We had reserved a parking space which was easy to find and covered, safe. The room had everything needed, the bed comfortable. The breakfast was included and was good. The place was made by the friendliness and helpfulness of the receptionist.

Absolutely stunning surroundings, hotel is located on a hilltop with 360 deg view. You can simply enjoy the view all the time! Big swimming pool with enough number of places to relax, both in full sun and under the roof. Very nice dinner menu, slightly more expensive than in Volterra, but you cannot enjoy THAT view anywhere else! Dogs are very welcome, even in the restaurant and in the pool area. E-bike rental on site. A lot of places to relax. Each room has some tables and chairs available on a private deck/balcony.

Holiday Rooms Antica Badia, hotel in Volterra

The Antica Badia is a 5-minute walk from the centre of Volterra, close to a bus stop. It features a garden with sun terrace. Outdoor parking and Wi-Fi are free.

Service was perfect. Kind, friendly and efficient. Room was very nice and spacious, clean and silent. Location is just some minutes from the entrance to historical center, but the way is somewhat steep, so best by car or if you are not carrying a lot of stuff with you. Just next to a supermarket that also opens on Sundays so that's a great plus. Showers are amazing. Bathroom has bidets. Italian breakfast was quite good for the price (keep in mind is only sweet stuff)

Hotel Villa Porta All'Arco, hotel in Volterra

Hotel Villa Porta All' Arco is located in Volterra, just 5 minutes' walk from the central square of Piazza dei Priori and 250 metres from the ancient city walls.

This was a very comfortable room in a good location, an easy walk up to the old town. We ended up having to drive through the old town as the road around was closed for repairs (not fun, but worth it when we drove into the villa carpark). A gorgeous villa, set over 3 levels, we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves as there was no one else staying there for those nights. Very comfortable room, well equipped and functional bathroom. Shutters and curtains blocked out any light which made for a great sleep. No kettle in the room but you can make tea or coffee downstairs in the kitchen at any time.

One of the best places I have been in Italy. Lovely little town, lots of nice restaurants and bars and shops. Amazing views. Gorgeous sunsets. Well worth the effort it took to get here - its not an easy place to get to but well worth it.

Volterra is a little jewel on top of. steep hill. The town hosts remnants from Etruscan ages, Roman ages, and the Middle Ages, all in a walking distance. The surrounding areas are hilly and very green.

Volterra is a nice hilltop town with a few churches and museums. The shopkeepers are friendly and they have some lovely artisan products. There is a large outdoor market on Fridays when the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere. The alabaster sculpture are stunning and unusual. There are a couple of good supermarkets with tasty deli selections. It well located for visiting other cities and towns in Tuscany.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!

The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

not the most interesting of fortified hill top towns, but nice enough. Not an awful lot too see apart from the stunning views and the inevitable torture museum which we came across in three other locations

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

The Staff This was our first stay as part of a wider trip in Tuscany. The staff could not have been more helpful. The communication before the stay was great (e.g. booking space in the garage). The Room While smallish was very nice with a small terrace overlooking the countryside and the pool area. The Location This really is the best part of Hotel San Lino. It's within the city walls which means carrying luggage to the hotel is much simpler. Also there is a beautiful church next door to it.

Good location close to Volterra with very nice typical Tuscany views. Clean, well equipped and maintained property, comfortable and quiet. Guests are invited to pick up fruits for themselves from the many trees (figs, apples, pears, plums etc). Beautiful pool kept clean at all times.

Etruria was a GREAT hotel! Excellent breakfast (seriously, above and beyond!), the staff were incredibly friendly and remembered our names, and the room was quite large for the price point! The location was also great within Volterra.
