Our favourite walled town in Tuscany. Building is placed just inside the medieval wall. Authentic Italian village. Quiet location, eventhough only minutes walk away from the piazza, cafés and Michelin star restaurants. Communication with staff was easy.
In the heart of the 5 Terre Coast, the Hotel Gianni Franzi features rooms with private bathrooms just below Vernazza's Doria Castle.

The view from the breakfast room was amazing. Just perfect. Food was good but could of used more hot dishes, pastries and fruit... We could hangout our wet clothes or towels on the line outside the window. That was really nice. It was clean. Nice view out the window. Loved the walk up to the room even with all the steps. Loved the sitting balcony . Beautiful view
Set in a renovated historic building, Hotel Firenze e Continentale offers elegant air-conditioned rooms.

Super close to the train station and made it easy to get around Cinque Terre. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and let us leave our luggage while we toured. The buffet breakfast was very good and included with our stay which was a nice surprise for us.
Hotel Venezia is just 230 feet from La Spezia Centrale Train Station, and opposite the city's shopping area. It offers functional rooms with modern furniture.

Fantastic location next to the train station. Also was right at the beginning of the walk toward town center.
Easy to reach from the freeway, close to the ferry for the Cinque Terre, Hotel Corallo is centrally located in La Spezia, 10 minutes by bus from the train station.

We loved the breakfast! A lot of items to choose from with fresh fruits and different breads. The location was great, 15min walk from the train station and 10min walk to the boat.

Volastra is a lovely little village with amazing views of the sea. If you do not have transport then need to stick to the bus schedule. Quite high up.
Beautiful hikes in nature and through the vineyards.

Handy to Manarola, via (steep) walking track and shuttle bus, but away from the crowds. The two restaurants have limited options (especially for vegetarians) and are quite expensive, but the little village shops is quite good. We ate in other villages and made pleasing breakfasts and lunches with supplies from the shop. The village is small, so easy to walk. If you need your morning coffee, though, make sure you bring your own supplies.
Volastra is in the agricultural heart of the Cinque Terre, but still with views over the sea, and the terraced hillsides.

Volastra is an excellent alternative to staying in one of the Cinque Terre villages. It’s higher up on the hills than Manarola and Corneglia, but is easy to get to by car (make sure your hotel/apartment has parking) and buses run rather frequently to and from Manarola (and even Riomaggiore, but less frequently). Be aware that the bus schedule is less frequent during the mid-day hours as well as later at night. From Manarola, it’s very easy to hop on the train to go to any of the Cinque Terre villages. Volastra is the mid point on the trail hike Manarola-Corneglia and it’s very easy to access the trails. In my opinion the Volastra to Corneglia hike is THE most beautiful of all the Cinque Terre trails, and hiking from Volastra to Corneglia (as opposed to the other way) is also a little less strenuous. Same for Corneglia to Vernazza (as opposed to the opposite direction).

Volastra in itself doesn’t really offer much: it’s a quiet village with an amazing view. But the real deal is down at sea level.
A convenient bus takes you down to Manarola and from there you can get the train to visit the other ‘terre’.
If you buy the 5 terre card, you can hop on and off the bus and train as much as you want. It’s around 19€ a day per person, while the single bus fare is 1.50€

Volastra is a great place to escape to for some quiet time and relaxation. There is a shuttle that stops here, but we decided to drive. It is situated high on the mountainside. The trip up is a little difficult, but the views of the sea are well worth the adventure. There is an excellent restaurant Locanda Tiabisucion in the town. You can also easily trek down to Manarola and Comiglia.

This property was fine for a short stay.
This property was fine for a short stay. We stayed two nights, giving us an evening and a full day to visit the Cinque Terre. It was very close to public transportation to go down to Manarola where you can easily catch the train that stops at all the other Cinque Terre towns. The view from this apartment is incredible! Plan to have easily portable luggage because you will need to carry it up to the fourth floor. Thankfully, the host helped us with our carry-on sized bags that were pre-packed for a two night stay. The kitchen is awesome. There was no TV, but there was wifi. There is also a hiking trail that connects to Corniglia (another Cinque Terre village) very close to the apartment and a small store with food supplies. We didn't try the restaurant there, but it looked like it would be good.
Beautiful location, with a great view! A hiking trail in front of the hotel leads directly to Manarola.
Rooms are equipped quite basically.
In contrast to other reviews, we found it easy to find the hotel. Also, we had no problem with the parking lot and the AC worked well.
Awesome spot in Volastra. One of the more quiet towns in Cinque Terre which we really enjoyed. Andrea was a great host and the room was comfy and as described. We had a car and it was also one of the easier towns to get too. Would recommend staying here!
Volastra is an ideal spot for a chilled winter retreat. Very peaceful and surrounded by dramatic scenarios, yet very close to the Cinque Terre, well connected with a shuttle bus. We parked our car and mostly moved by public transport.
modern, bright, very clean, good attention to detail, well equipped for basic BnB, cooking needs. Great use of space indoors and lovely courtyard space. Lovely views of hills in peaceful surrounds of Volastra. Very secure property.
