The view from the room and the breakfast area were amazing. They had a separate are for you to hang out and look at the water. The breakfast was very nice and more than enough!

The location is excellent, only 5 minutes walk from the train station, and right next to the plaza by the water. We communicated with Barbara via WhatsApp, and she gave us all the information about arrival. She met us at the door when we arrived and showed us her apartment. It was a really nice apartment, spacious, clean and comfortable. She prepared a lot food (breads, croissants, cakes, etc.), coffee, tea, as well as milk, juice, yogurt, water, and other items in the refrigerator, mush more than we need for the breakfast. Thanks, Barbara!

Vernazza is a great base from which to explore the Cinque Terre.
Train tickets are expensive, 8 Euro , for a short hop to the next village, (a 5 minute ride) so if you plan to explore the whole of Cinque Terre a day pass is advisable. Perhaps make use of a ferry ride between some of the villages for a different experience.
Try the take-away fried fish - delicious!

Vernazza is a great village to visit whether you want to be active (hiking miles on the Cinque Terre trails) or to relax (sunbathing at the beach or strolling leisurely through the shops in town). For a town its size, it has a decent collection of restaurants and bars. The train makes every other town in Cinque Terre accessible in fifteen minutes or less.

Need at least 2 days as so much to see. The roads are narrow and it takes longer to drive, but is so worth it. Most of Vernazza is quiet and remote and lush with trees and flowers. It was not what I expected but was delightful.

The beautiful evenings of friends and families gathering for dinner and children running around with gelato and playing games. There was even a magician performing in the square for great entertainment. There were lots of options for wining and dining.

Small town with a small waterfront and smaller beach.
Small town with a small waterfront and smaller beach. The town is colorful and delightfully compact. It serves as a great base for hiking the Cinque Terra trails. From the main street everything is uphill on steep staircases and through narrow winding alleyways. Lots of fun. It is a simple matter to take the train between towns; hike from Vernazza to Cornelia or Monterossa with its expansive beachfront, and take the train back in the evening--just don't miss the last train.
Several good restaurants in hidden places and adjacent to the medieval towers. All require steep stairways to reach but worth the effort. From the towers you get great views along the coast. The Focaccraria has great selections for an inexpensive lunch.

Accommodations were comfortable and close to town, train stop very close , town is adorable, restaurants served delicious meals and the hike between Vernazza and Monterosso is the most beautiful hike I’ve been on. Highly recommend.
My stay here in May 2022 was a treat. Room 2 is a lovely, well appointed room. The host was warm and welcoming and the location is perfect. It is like staying in a mini-hotel. I didn't want to leave and if my budget didn't depend on the lowly NZ dollar, I would have stayed longer. This place is 9.9 out of 10! My only tiny problem was the saggy mattress; maybe in need of replacement.
Room 2 has a fridge, which is great for avoiding the expensive charges for breakfast in Vernazza.
The location is absolutely beautiful, with access to the Cinque Terra area. We had the best view overlooking the ocean. There was a large patio area where you can sit and watch the ferries and local fishing boats and have a glass of your favourite beverage.
The bed was super comfortable.
Our host Gian, met us at the Vernazza train station and helped us with our luggage and showed us the way to the accommodation.
Really spacious and the door is about 10 yards away from the main front of Vernazza. Donna left food and wine for us and we were allowed into the room early which was needed after doing part of the Cinque Terre walk with bags. Air con was also very good so we were very comfortable during the recent heat wave. Couldn’t recommend staying here more and will hopefully be back
Space of the room, well equipped and everything works. Change of towels per two days.
The location of the room right next to the harbour at Vernazza, Cinque Terre.
Host of room was helpful. She waited and looked out for us. Went through her room with us and offered good tips on day trip to the 'sixth' coastal village by ferry (Porta Venere)
Vernazza is probably the most beautiful of Cinque Terre and La Scala is in the heart of it, very close to the beach and the central street. The apartment is very comfortable equipped for everything needed for a short stay. We really enjoyed our two days there and we now miss everything about it (even the 64 steps leading there)!
