I've never been in a more rustic environment than in Mendatica. It's the ideal retreat from busy city life! You can walk for days in the forests without encountering anyone, see lots of wildlife and starry skies. The cabin is big and very well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette is well-equipped, with pans, pots and bialettis, an induction cooking plate, a fridge and an electric oven. The owner, Piero, is very helpful and friendly.
Something to keep in mind: Mendatica is very small. Consider cooking yourself (nearest restaurant is 15 min by car) and visiting a supermarket before going up in the mountains. But there is also a very small shop in the village for some basic groceries (pasta, passata, canned foods,...)
Featuring garden views, House of silence provides accommodation with a patio, around 29 km from San Siro Co-Cathedral. The apartment is 29 km from Forte di Santa Tecla.
We enjoyed our trip to Triora. It has so much history and beautiful sceneries. The town of the witches!!! We were lucky to have friends show us around. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was good. If you want to see the whole town and its beauty you have ready to walk. Between climbing and descending you are going to put alot of walking into it. The town is medieval and the streets are steep and stony.
