We loved our stay at Villa Madruzzo. The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was amazing, the spa was luxurious and even though it was a little out of town the Trento card provided free bus travel which made it easier. We love the area of Italy and hopefully we will return.

Trento is a town defined by its closeness to the Dolomites, bordered by the vineyards along the banks of the Adige River, and signposted by castles that once defended the road leading towards the Alpine passes of Brenner and Reschen. Though that gives some hints, it doesn’t unveil the rich mix of Alpine, Germanic and Mediterranean cultures that represent the cornerstone of its identity.
It is believed that it was founded as ‘Trent’ by Gauls in the 4th century BC, becoming ‘Tridentum’ under Roman rule. After the fall of the empire and centuries of dispute, the region knew prosperity under the rule of several Prince-Bishops, and was later integrated to the Austrian South Tyrol, until its final incorporation to the Kingdom of Italy after World War I. It boasts nowadays one of the highest qualities of life in Italy, while the University of Trento ranks among the country’s best.
The city’s historic centre shows the typical cultural pattern that characterises the area. Buonconsiglio Castle overlooks the city from the top of a rock, while the cathedral and Piazza Duomo shouldn’t be missed. In the Old Town's narrow streets you’ll find some of the most picturesque hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in Trento.

Trento is a very lively city with an impressive dome, an old castello, various pallaces, a modern museum of natural science (mostly directed to children from 5 - 15), many good restaurants and a good site for going to beautiful landscapes and for various activities..

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! We were here for a week-long busy congress event, so we didn't have much time to 'be tourists', but we did get to go inside many of the buildings and galleries as part of the congress. Really gorgeous city, lovely bars, and the amazing cable car, Lake Caldonazzo and waterfalls (Orrido di Ponte Alto) not far away.

A lovely small city with attractive buildings, various museums and churches, good cafes and restaurants and interesting shops. Having passed the city many times on the rail route from Munich to Bologna, we’re glad to have finally broken the journey there.

We just love these "small big cities" across Europe.
We just love these "small big cities" across Europe. They have their own identity. Still, Trento is the epitome of what you would expect of any Italian town. Cozy streets, atmospheric squares, impressive architecture, great bars and restaurants and good shopping. And with surroundings like the southern Alps - the Dolomites - what is not to like?

Very nice room with generous hanging and storage space and the bathroom was a good size, rare for Italy. The sunny breakfast room was a lovely place to start the day. There are gluten free and vegetarian options too. Being brought an excellent coffee by a handsome Italian man was a nice way to start the day! Even though this is a B&B there are some staff there during the day. There IS a lift, through the lobby on the right. It is small and the door swings open. Some reviews have said it was hard to figure out.....not sure why!
A great modern apartment with lots of comfort and amenities! The key handover went smoothly, Giovanna waited for us, handed over the key and explained everything to us. She was always available during our one-week vacation, e.g. for hotel tips or reservations etc..
During our stay the towels were changed once and the apartment was tidied up, very nice.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the city center of Trento, but there are also good bus connections.
Thank you for a wonderful week's vacation, we will be back.
Nice location with an excellent cost/benefit. The room is nicely set, and has a very decent breakfast. Having a parking lot is very convenient, considering that parking in Trento is not the easiest exercise.
If you are fine walking, the city centre is a handful of blocks away from the hotel and you can also enjoy the life in the city.
wonderful place to stay, we just stayed overnight but we were glad we have booked here, great breakfast which is served on the 4th floor, proper coffee as you can expect in Italy, real cereals (not Kellog's) and of course prosciutto etc., the whole tower was renovated with all modern amenities
Exclusive hotel in the center of Trento. Comfortably furnished, very good breakfast, parking in the garage, a few minutes from the main center and square.
