Truly fantastic hotel - wonderfully quirky and located in the centre of town. Fantastic breakfast and great hosts. We had a wonderful night and will hopefully come back. There was an outdoor cinema in the town square and we went to a great family pizzeria restorante a short walk with fantastic seafood. One of our best nights in Italy. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Tortona is sited on the right bank of the Scrivia between the plain of Marengo and the foothills of the Ligurian Apennines. The area is known for the variety and of its products and for the intensive wine production, including Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato and Timorasso, the autochthonous wine of the region which traces its origin back to the 14th century. Truffles are another important fruit of this land and the Colli Tortonesi is the only place in Piedmont to have three varieties of truffle: white truffle, black truffle and scorzone. Main sights: Roman remains, traditionally identified as the Mausoleum of the Roman Emperor Maiorianus; Palazzo Guidobono (15th century); the cathedral (mid-16th century); the Bishops' Palace (1584); abbey of Santa Maria di Rivalta, a Romanesque structure (built around 1150).
good location for stopover near autostrada junction, perfect for our dog both in hotel and in surrounding countryside, good traditional food (18 eu for fixed price menu inc decent wine ), friendly staff - it was so good we have rearranged our return journey so that we can stay here again
Owners of the place are wonderful family. Interior of the hotel rooms is very fascinating. We also enjoyed the winery. Wine is uniq and tasty. Retro machines at the yard are also amazing.
The house is a Gem. Room was great, spacious and big terrace. The surrounding wonderful and a quit position in Tortona. Breakfast very Englisch and way to much.
