Few minutes to the train station. Great value for the price. Nice lady at the reception.
Located in Tirano, a 1-minute walk from Tirano Train Station, Bernina Express Rooms&Breakfast features a terrace and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant.
What a brilliant city Tirano (Turin) is! Great museums - the mountaineering museum, the incredible egyptology museum with its huge collection, and the palace and attached art gallery including roman ruins.
Terrific cafe's and restaurants of many cuisines, very walkable, and not as crowded as some other Italian cities.
It was a great alternative to Milan on my trip from Barcelona to Venice - I flew into Tirano for a few days and then caught the train on to Venice. So easy.
Just a note: I heard of a few instances of people mistaking the city of Tirano (Turin) for the town of Torino (where the Bernina Express originates/terminates). So be sure you're heading to the right place!

Quiet town at the end of the Bernina Express trip. I was well worth to spend the night there. Hotel Corona was incredible for the value. The pizza place by the station was beyond expectations good. Delicious pizza and tiramisu!

Tirano was an amazing and unexpected experience!
The old city was really old, intriguing pedestrian alleys, full of history but a little abandoned. Great shops a good Italian restaurants. Very cheap compared to other European cities. Great gelato and nice people

Tirano receives hundreds of tourists every day from the Bernina Express. Most only stay for a night or two close to the train station or just catch the next train. But the city and region have so much more to offer: Great scenery, Basilica, Cathedral, Old Town, Valtellinese wines (amazing expression of Nebbiolo grape in the Valtellina), and regional foods. Restaurants in Old Town are wonderful and inexpensive and in nice weather what can beat sitting outdoors. Bus to Bormio is worth a day trip. Plus, hiking.

Tirano has a stunning old centre.
Tirano has a stunning old centre. It has some beautiful churches but is quite small and is not really buzzing at night. We took a journey to Lake Como and my husband hired a bike for somoe serious cycling. There are some beautiful hiking around the ares.

This apartment is so spacious, it was such a treat to spread out in comfortable rooms. It had everything we needed and was very close to the train station. The host met us there and gave us some great local advice. Tirano is a beautiful town and I just wish we'd stayed longer! The apartment is a bit dated but this didn't bother us, it had everything we needed, comfy beds, good shower. And a washing machine!
The property is not too far from Tirano station. The hotel is old. The staff is good and polite. But the room is very very basic. No hot water kettle. No tea or coffee. No water glasses or cups to drink water provided in the room. The decor and furniture inside and outside the room are old. The room size is small. Barely sufficient space for 2 people and luggage.
Incredibly clean apartments. The breakfast was excellent, and everything needed to make tea or coffee was provided (and even more). The service was exceptional. It’s a 10-minute walk to the train station and just 3 minutes to the Madonna di Tirano church.
It's such a cozy hotel right next to the train station - a perfect location! The breakfast was amazing, there was also a kettle in the room. It's definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed!
