In the historic town of Spoleto, San Luca is a charming, family-run hotel set in the grounds of a former convent. Breakfast and drinks are served in the floral courtyard.

The staff was professional, very helpful and always appeared happy to help us. Breakfast had many choices and the service staff was quick and efficient with our coffees. We had drinks at the bar one evening and enjoyed just sitting in the lobby area which is nicely appointed. The town of Spoleto has a network of moving walkways, elevators and escalators to access the main tourist areas which in some cases would be very steep if on foot. The hotel was close to the access point for all of these mobility options.

it used to be an Italian villa. Should I say more? Wind your way through the extremely tight streets to park your car outside the wall. Walk through the archway and you step into the courtyard which is absolutely gorgeous, with perfectly trimmed hedges, and a view of the castle and beautiful church in the distance. The lady at the front desk is perfectly nice. Showed us to our room which is quaint, spacious enough, and smelled very nice. Old world Italian feel. Nice Wi-Fi, nice shower. Breakfast in the morning was nice and if weather permits you can have it in the courtyard. 5 minute walk to Ponte delle Torri. 3 minute walk to Piazza Campello and the Spoleto link with the people movers and elevators that easily take you up and down the city. Excellent stay.
At Hotel Gattapone you will enjoy exclusive views of Spoleto's medieval aqueduct and the beautiful valley below. The hotel has its own panoramic grounds, terrace and bar.

This may be the only non-medieval building in town. It is nice and quiet, two somewhat uphill blocks from the beginning of the Center, Piazza Libertà’. Everything else is also uphill, but, not far from this piazza, they have escalators and elevators to take you all the way up and around, the fortress Cardinal Albornoz (Spanish) built to keep the city papal, and the stunning Roman aqueduct and bridge between two mountains which Goethe and I both traversed, the Duomo. (The first uphill right-turn up on Piazza Liberta’, followed by your first left, takes you quickly to the best trattoria I found over three nights, La Lanterna, though Sabbattini on the square was good too.)
I usually avoid breakfast in a hotel. I want to get out and about, and I really want fresh orange juice and a real, not-automat, cappuccino. I didn’t try here, just skipped out. Vincenzo’s on Piazza Liberta’ gave me both and a fresh brioche when I wanted one with no trouble and little cost.
The hotel has a front desk and an elevator, things I prize, and excellent Wi-Fi. Friendly people, well recommended.

Not sure why anyone would stay here - much nicer places such as Todi and Montefalco. All restaurants seemed to be shut in evening - had to resort to a
slice of takeaway pizza. Many many buildings covered in boarding and scaffolding

A beautiful town, I cme to see a performance of an opera in the theatro nuovo as a part of the festival due mondi. Beautiful. The town is lovely and interesting and the free underground transport system enabled me to explore it by foot at my age (almost 70).

Spoleto is one of the loveliest medieval towns in Italy.
Spoleto is one of the loveliest medieval towns in Italy. It absolutely deserves a few days. The Cathedral, Archbishop's museum and the Renaissance fortress (Rocca Albornoz) atop the hill, with its museum, are all must sees.

Spoleto is a nice, cosy town.
Spoleto is a nice, cosy town. The centre itself is rather small, so visiting it doesn't take very long. You can hike and cycle in the vicinity. There are some places worth visiting nearby, reachable either by car or by train, such as the waterfalls in Marmore and the towns of Assisi and Perugia.

The property was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Rooms are bright and roomy and we probably had the best shower that we ever experienced in our travels. The property is within easy walking distance of the escalators which get you easily to the old centre of Spoleto . Bus stop is also convenient and a very handy pharmacy snd supermarket are located just across the road. A special mention for the friendly efficient staff. Thank you. A very good breakfast is also served here.
Everything about this property was fabulous. Situated outside of Spoleto, this is a reception place as well as hotel. It has a wonderful restaurant with first class food, amazing pool and farm animals if you have children. The room was modern as was the whole property. The shower recess was a little small for my husband but adequate for me. The whole property is very clean with lovely gardens and very large car park. The staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.
