We had a wonderful stay here. The room was spacious and clean, and the facilities were lovely. it is right in the heart of town with easy access to many hikes and gondolas. The restaurant was fantastic. Great morning breakfast buffet, and the dinner was superb. The staff were so helpful, kind and attentive. I look forward to staying here again.

The location was good and we had a great view from our balcony. The staff made you feel at home in this home-style B&B. The host provided good suggestions for hikes as well as walking shortcuts to get to the lifts without taking a car. The breakfast was very fresh including some home-cooked cakes.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay here! From the warm greeting to all the help and advice we were given as visitors being new to the area. The location was amazing, the room and facilities were amazing and the food amazing. I was thrilled that they catered for my coeliac condition and even made a gluten free strudel for my breakfast one morning. We cannot wait to return!

Everything - the most sensational hotel experience from start to finish. My husband and I don’t regularly do 5 star hotels but as it was a honeymoon we stayed one night as a treat. We arrived and bags were taken up to the room for us and we were given a welcome drink and delicious snack whilst being given a talk about the facilities and things to do. Our room was compact but immaculate. Unfortunately I feel unwell during the stay so wasn’t able to go down for dinner in the beautiful restaurant but not to worry as the amazing Granbaita staff brought up a menu to the room and gave us meals from the restaurant in the room, which arrived on a trolly that converted into a table! They were incredibly tasty and presented like a Michelin star restaurant!
The spa area and pool - the greatest we’ve ever experienced. Spacious and so well laid out. My husband went into the sauna area and said it was the best steam room he’d ever seen.
The breakfast offerings were amazing too, with a great selection and the chef can cook you things like eggs Benedict if you want, with no additional cost!
Overall, the Granbaita was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. It was super quiet (we went during ski off season) and the location amongst the mountains was stunning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The location was remarkable for hiking and the views were insane. Breakfast was included and delicious with plenty of options for my entire family (even gluten restrictive diets). Our rooms were massive and everyone had an amazing view. There are several hiking trails connected directly to the property so you have options to explore immediately after walking outside, although there are lots of hikers that come to this area and park in the lot so just be prepared for a crowd.

The room and breakfast area were very clean.
The room and breakfast area were very clean. The room has blackout blinds that enabled us to sleep like babies. There was a heater to warm towels or dry clothes in the toilet. Great location and very walkable. There is a fabulous market around the corner. We really enjoyed our stay!

The family and friendly atmosphere was perfect.
The family and friendly atmosphere was perfect. The staff very much went out of their way to make sure we were happy and had everything we need. Breakfast was incredible with many many options and healthy choices. Americans always like more coffee faster, but that would be my only recommendation. The sauna and steam room were excellent very clean and safe. Truly the owners were invested in making sure our stay was enjoyable. The definitely hit the mark.

Selva di Val Gardena is really a sports town -- not much to do unless you hike, bike or ski. But if you love sports, its the place to be. A never ending number of trails and adventures await you.
I would add that if you are freaked out by driving over high mountain passes with lots of hairpin turns, this might not be the destination for you.

While Ortesie is slightly larger town, Selva is higher elevation and more quaint alpine village, and better lift access. Busses are free, frequent, and electronic displays accurately show next bus, so visiting Ortesie for dinner or to explore or ski is easy. While we liked Ortesie, I would stay in Selva de Gardena the next time.

Information on the website about the village amenity was...
Information on the website about the village amenity was very poor. I would have liked more information about the public transport options, timetables etc. Information about the taxi to the horses was out of date and it cost a lot more than it said on the website. The lack of a bus link to other villages was a real drawback for me. And the cost of taxis was exorbitant.
Also information about the grocery shops. The shops were very small and expensive.
Although our accommodation was excellent I wouldn’t recommend this area again.

We visited here for two nights as part of a driving tour of Italy, the hotel was a such an amazing find. The room was first rate with great views of the surrounding area, breakfast was the best of our trip with a clear attention to detail. The staff were attentive and exceedingly helpful especially with the afternoon tea serving.
Secure car parking near by was an added bonus.
If you are visiting the Dolomites then definitely consider this hotel, it won't disappoint.
It was very practical for skiing. The hotel has adequate storage for the skiing material, and is within walking distance of the ski slopes and a ski rental shop.
The staff were very friendly. Our luggage was delayed when we landed, so we were a couple of days without most of our stuff. Bernadette and Yuliana at the reception were very approachable and helped us manage this situation with tips on where to buy or rent ski wear while our luggage was missing.
One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was the "gourmet experience" and the food was excellent with one exception (see below). Nice covered balcony with great view. Stylish, clean well appointed room. Fabulous large ensuite spa bath. Right on the piste and a warm clean ski room with automatic doors! The spa was absolutely lovely with some very creative ideas (you must go in the cellar steam room - be prepared to jump out of your skin)!
a very nice family hotel run by people with great care, love and feeling for the well-being of their customers.
wonderful breakfasts, nice short chats with the owner and his father - a well-known skier and a pleasant mother, a real lady who greets every guest kindly, very friendly staff, coffee on the terrace, large rooms, pleasant interior, relaxation in the sauna and outdoor heated pool with a view of the dllomites
