Club Esse Pila 2000, hotel in Pila

Step out of the Club Esse Pila 2000 and you will immediately find yourself among 43 mi of ski slopes in one of the most modern resorts in the Aosta Valley.

The location was the best you could ask for. Being at the mountain and starting your day skiing out of your hotel is the way to go and not have to drive up or take the lift for 30 minutes. The hotel staff was beyond friendly. They all put on little skits and dance for the holidays in the lobby for the guests. I speak very little Italian and the staff speaks English well which helps for someone that is not well versed yet in Italian. All of the guests staying there were very friendly as well. I was traveling alone and they all seemed to reach out and be welcoming also. I will most likely be heading back there in a few weeks if I can book a room.

This place has amazing views! We stayed at a small apartment here. We had a queen bed and it has a small day bed as well. We had a table, a kitchenette, full bathroom, tv, a poltrona and a very cozy porch on the outside. We stayed here during ski season, it was the best decision. It is cozy, comfortable and it feels like a home in the mountain top. I highly recommend you to try the breakfast. It is delicious, super fresh and all hand and homemade. They have professional coffee machines, eggs (harvested from their own farm), bread, waffles, fresh juices and yogurt. The staff is super friendly. Stefano talks english, Italian, French and a little bit of Spanish so do not hesitate to come here if you are overthinking about the communication because trust me, he will find the way. He gives you tips in order to enjoy your stay in town a little more so just ask. You can use the cable way or teleférico to come up to the second stop. Important thing it closes at 5pm. If you are coming on a ski trip, it is amazing because it is not too crowded here and there are many different options of courses for every level.

The staff were amazing; food in the hotel’s restaurant was great, room was very clean. We had a flat tire in our rental car when when arrived and the hotel owner was really helpful with it - translating the call with the rental company and making sure the car was fixed even though it was a weekend. Highly recommended, beautiful views.

Hirondelle Locanda, hotel in Pila

Boasting a Vegetarian restaurant that is open daily and a garden, Hirondelle Locanda is set 3.1 mi from Aosta city center. Pila Cable Car is 4.3 mi from the property.

Hirondelle Laconda, a small, family-run hotel, lies above the captivating town of Aosta with a splendid view of the mountains. In April, we woke to the sound of a cuckoo and the magic of mist-enshrouded mountains and were then treated to an exceptional breakfast of so many homemade cakes and cheeses, yogurts and fruits, perfect cappuccino, muesli and other delights that we might have spent the day in the dining room rather than heading off on our journey! The charming sisters Alicia, the chef, and Nathalie, the hotelier, as well their parents are committed to an idea of hospitality that is so genuine and rare these days, evident in their attentiveness, cordiality, and cheerfulness as well as in the spotless rooms, the well-trained staff, and in their willingness to help plan a memorable stay in the Aosta Valley. Such is their genuine kindness and good humor that when we departed we felt as if we were more than guests and were saying goodbye to beloved family members. We had thought of staying at a large hotel in Courmayeur with a spa and I believe a Michelin star, but we were all so happy with our choice, knowing that what we received was a unique experience, a treasured, star-studded highlight of our trip to Italy.

A great little ski resort, perfect for all levels but especially for beginners since the easy slopes are so easily accessible. It’s also very close to Aosta and the cable car ride is easy and fun. Highly recommended.

Great little resort for a ski weekend.

Great little resort for a ski weekend. If your a intermediate skier its great fun and you can keep moving all day as the resort is well connected. Great slopes for beginner's to and a few slopes for a bit of free style fun for advanced skiers . Not a massive night life though quite nights. only a few little restaurant's . a sleepy but very relaxing place.

Pila is a lovely ski resort. Ample runs for a 6 day trip. Just over €200 for a ski pass giving you access to 2 other Aosta resorts if you want to travel out. Lots of restaurant and bar choice on and off Piste. A great resort I’d quite happily visit again. If you are self catering and have room in your car shop in Aosta for groceries before heading up the windy mountain road. We didn’t have room so had to head down after dropping off bags. No problem as arrived in in good time and didn’t have to use skiing time to do this. We loved Pila. Recommend for novice intermediate skiers or mixed groups.

It is a very nice resort and our second time there, the hotels position can not be faulted and the staff were brilliant. Restaurant was very busy and too noisy for our liking. We should have been told to bring our own towels to use in the pool and swimming hats so we didn’t use the facilities. We could not use the sauna either as our13 year old was not allowed in and we were not prepared to leave him alone while we used the sauna ourselves.

What a little Gem of a place, fantastic skiing and atmosphere, its not a lively place at night but still plenty to do. Food and drinks were very cheap compared to other resorts. Road up is pretty Hairy from Aosta its 22km of hairpins and slopes but it was well gritted. I would always check if its open. The cable car has parking for free in Aosta and opens at 8.30 till 5.

I had thought I was booking for Cogne, as that was the place name I put in my search, so was surprised when I discovered I had booked for Pila, which is up a cable car and nowhere near Cogne - this was not made clear at time of booking. However, I came to like Pila. Its downside is that it's a ski resort with vaste, modern hotel complexes and really quite ugly. However by using the chairlift one is able to get above all this and the mountainsides and Lago do Chamole are very attractive with good, well marked paths. And the views are amazing! It's a very friendly place with lots of mountain cafes to relax in the sun. There aren't many other places where you can stay at 7000 ft without having to drive or walk to get there - very useful gondola lift up from Aosta.
