Passignano is a nice town on Lake Trasimeno.
Passignano is a nice town on Lake Trasimeno. There is not much to see in the town itself, but being on a trainline it is easy to get to Florence, Assisi and especially Perugia. There are plenty of good-value places to eat.

If you have the car, you can drive around the lake and see the surrounding area, which has quite a lot to offer in terms of historical buildings and history in general. The scenery was nice too.
Opposite Passignano sul Trasimeno, across the lake, was another town, Castgliano del Lago or whatever it's called, I wasn't in there but it looked interesting too.
The only thing that was a little worse is that the water was bad and it was not recommended to swim in. There were few places you could swim, I went there but it didn't look appealing so I just swam in the pool.
It is still a good destination to stay there for a few days and enjoy.

This seemed to me to be a mid-priced hotel with a better than mid-priced level of service from the staff. The main reason to stay is the great view of the lake and the proximity to the sites, restaurants and amenities in the town.

Passignano is such a beautiful little town. so...
Passignano is such a beautiful little town. so characteristic. you can take long walks along the lake, and doing so in the early morning is so delightful. It is close to other main cities of Umbria, with just half an hour drive you can reach Perugia. Another trip could be to Assisi or Cortona.
It's an area to discover. The people are friendly and welcoming. And boat trips can be taken around the lake.
I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful region.

lovely lake and a ferry which can take you across to the little islands in the lake
has train station and town is situated half way between florence and rome so can use location to travel to different places , perugia near by( and where flew into) is really lovely medieval town lots to see and has chocolate factory

The position of the hotel is unbeatable and the staff were polite, friendly and very good at their jobs. The breakfast is a buffet affair with a very good selection that reflects the hotel's international clients, there is something for all tastes. A large secure free car park is available. I didn't use it but there is also a stunning pool!
The hotel is a short walk from the train station. It is an uphill walk and there are no pavements. The hotel was clean and tidy and I would consider it good value for money (our stay included an evening meal, which included drinks, and breakfast.
Very friendly helpful staff , rooms spacious and very clean the kitchenette was an added bonus the little lunch van that came everyday parked across the road for lunch was very convenient
