Location was lovely, in a very pretty street - close to the front, and with its own restaurant (which we did use) and pizzeria, should have been ideal - however, this was not at all what we expected.
Enjoy the friendly atmosphere of Hotel Piroscafo, a typical example of the cosy, family-owned establishments overlooking Lake Garda. The hotel faces the tourist dock in Desenzano.

The location was in a quiet area which I found much more practical than the busy old town. It was great to park there and just walk to the touristy places. The room was perfect with balcony, I didn't hear much of the guests around. But the highlight was the breakfast, there was so much to choose from and everything was very fresh. I also appreciate that I could get into my room a bit early, as I arrived in town before check-in time.

Facilities though a bit outdated were functional and clean.
Facilities though a bit outdated were functional and clean. The location at beach is great, you can have a swim anytime. As in most places at Italian lakes you have to stumble over small rocks to get into deeper water. Best to take watershoes with you. Pardenghe itself is very small. Because it is close to the Po-river area the surrounding mountains are small (compared to Riva). In the proximity there are enough attractions. We visited the Masi wine estate.

Location: superb; on the lake, easy to reach from Desenzano, easy to travel from there to Milan or Venice/Verona.
Swimming pool was lovely!
The beach was also nice; managed to swim in the lake. They offered boat trips, and trips from the harbour around the lake.
Nearby amenities were ok (supermarket in 2.5 km) and bus stop facing the hotel. We didn't have a car.
The hotel is a high class hotel, with trained staff at the reception. Being at Lake Garda for sure is an asset. The premises are clean and whenever you have some wish or request, there are people that will pay attention.
Lovely hostel; very peaceful and quiet. Polite staff. Very quaint little beach. It's more like a hotel than a hostel. Nice breakfast included. Rooms cleaned every day.
