Unfortunately the messages didn’t arrive as I was traveling - not the hosts fault they sent messages.
I may be useful to start contact on access when booked.

We loved the town, it is lively enough, with restaurants, cafes and shops, but less touristy than Bologna which we had visited before that. We felt much safer and relaxed here in Imola. We enjoyed the walk in the historical centre, a visit to the Duomo, walking in the Acque Minerali park. Unfortunately, the fortress was closed for reconstruction at the time but we observed it at least from the outside and learned about its history from a very useful app.
It's called VisitARe Imola app and we loved it, it's exactly what you need for individual sightseeing of the city and the surroundings.
The kids enjoyed having a look at the Imola circuit and driving in the simulators. And other sights in the region are within a reasonable driving distance. The closest is Dozza, which we felt in love with but also a longer trip to San Marino and Rimini was absolutely worth it.
And strangely perhaps, we liked the walk around the Piratello cemetery. It is really impressive and even more so in the time of our visit - just two days before All Saints' Day.

Apart from the racing circuit where we spent most of our time the city itself is beautiful with many excellent restaurants and excellent shops. Downtown is a no traffic zone so its comfortable to stroll around and enjoy a drink in the evening. first Class!!
