Beautiful hotel outside of the city center but perfectly located for public transport. Breakfast was extensive- one of the best we've had in Italy as there's a huge selection that suits travelers from all over. Restaurant was good and there's options for food 24 hours. Staff was super friendly and provided over the top service. special thank you to the gentleman who makes the coffees in the morning.

Hotel Grifo, hotel in Gianicolo

In Rome's central Monti area, Hotel Grifo features a terrace with magnificent city views.

Alan at the front desk was outstanding! He offered great suggestions, directions and showed real interest in our comfort. The rest of the staff seemed equally great, but we interacted mostly with Alan. The building is charming, frim the 1700's. Yes, the rooms are small by American standards but that is typical in EU. It was spotless and the bed is comfortable. If the room with the terrace is available GO FOR IT (charming). Homemade breakfast. This has a family pride vibe. Location on a cobblestone street with bars and restaurants nearby. 15 min walk to the Collisium, Trevi fountains, etc.
