Everything was wonderful. The staff were the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever encountered.
Things that stood out:
1. Staff!
2. Bread served with dinner, and coffee, both the best I’ve ever had!
3. The spa was lovely.
Things to improve:
1. It would be good to have a little warmer rooms, either by a rug or throws and cushions. We had only one chair so perhaps two chairs and a small coffee table could be a good addition.
2. Toiletries: there wasn’t shampoo or conditioner, which you usually get. The reason it became an issue was that the local shops didn’t sell any hair conditioner either. We both have frizzy, tangly hair and it’s a must. Normally I pack this, but lately I’ve started using the hotel’s provided products so I was surprised there wasn’t anything and I think if the spa sold them it would be handy.
3. Usually hotels this standard have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, and an iron. It was a bit awkward using the ironing room which seemed to be a disused office.
4. We went to the opera and a shuttle back would be a useful service.
