Hotel Gajeta, hotel in Gaeta

Set along Gaeta's seafront promenade, Hotel Residence Gajeta is a restored historical building in the center of the city on the Tyrrhenian coast.

This was a welcoming town, after traveling south from Argentario. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to have the USS Mount Whitney greet is in the immediate bay across from our balcony room. Exactly at 8am, we awoke to Italy's National Anthem and then, America's, as both flags were raised below. Quite a site !!! We were only there for one night and this was the best location and fortunately selected as a last stop before returning to Naples, as many semi-abanonded towns/hotels/beachs/amusement parks were to follow continuing southbound along Italy's west coast , (sad to see this). However, it was NO reflection on Gaeta or Hotel Gajeta. We wish we had more time to explore the whole bay area. The manager was so friendly and suggested dinner in town at Casa Mia which was lovely. He also told us about the 10 minute walk to the beach side where you could swim in October. It was a beautiful beach while viewing old fortresses and caverns embedded into the seaside cliffs. Also, these darling little, friendly schools of fish hang around you in the shallows of the clear Tyrhennian Sea. Hotel Gajeta is a very pretty and classy place to stay. Also, it was very quiet and peaceful staying here.

A lot of history and many beautiful beachside towns near Gaeta. The beach was sandy and the water clear and beautiful along with nearby towns. There is a new peer of town and an old part of town. I needed a few more days.

We were looking for an experience that wasn’t wall to wall tourists and Gaeta in September was perfect for that. (Summer is much busier, I’m told.) There was plenty of excellent restaurant choices as well as places to visit. The beach was lovely and we had planned to spend time there; however, we ended up only walking through on our first evening in town. It is a lovely town with friendly people. We stayed at Little Rock Guest House and loved it.

Lots of good food options and well located to reach many different beaches within half hour drive. Car is a necessity. Hospitable people...like anywhere, if you're kind and friendly it comes back.

Geata is absolutely beatiful town, full of history and culture. Plenty to do and discover for everyone beach bums and seasoned hikers . Beaches in the area are stunning, people are friendly. Kids enjoyed visiting different beaches everyday , waters are clear and warm in August. They also loved apartment ,full of character with fantastic views. Near by pizzeria had plenty to offer and local ice cream are to die for. We will visit again.

Gaeta was a small and nice seaside resort.

Gaeta was a small and nice seaside resort. Very quiet and relaxed at the time we were there; before the Italian holiday. It has some old nice streets with charming buildings and castle and churches to visit for culture. It is a quiet place with little bars and nightlife, so not for the party-people, mostly for families and grown ups. We were there in July and it was a bit too warm for major sightseeing, and much activity, so stay on the beach and in the sea.

The people are very friendly, that makes the difference, one lady helped me out with the bus ticket, she sold me one and explained to me how to get one. It is a beautiful place, with Monte Orlando for two hours of trekking, lovely beaches, and many restaurants, The bus from Formia costs 1.10 euros, past every 20 minutes near the hotel Mirasole. There are many trains from Formia-Naples. It is a great place!

Most of all, the staff - the ladies on Reception (Francesca especially) were delightful and so helpful when we decided to stay on for an extra night. The restaurant staff achieved the perfect balance between being friendly and yet professional. The beach is fantastic, the food is great, my room had a balcony with sea view - couldn't have asked for more really. The location between Gaeta and Sperlonga is perfect for visiting either town. The lifts all over the hotel made getting around so easy.

The property is nice and cosy self-catering apartment on second floor of old building in the heart of Gaeta. It is definitely top located - main places of interest are all walking distance. The property was absolutely clean and so fresh. There are mosquito nets what is very important for summer stay in Italy. I felt as I was the first guest after renovation of the apartment. And I was feeling as I was for a few days at my own small house in Gaeta. Grazie mille, Claudio, per l'ospitalita!

My boyfriend and I had an excellent stay at Da Serena. The hosts were friendly, and the house is beautiful, situated in a lovely, peaceful garden about 5 minutes’ walk from the nearest beach and about half an hour’s walk from Gaeta town. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, the bathroom was spacious and it was good having access to a kettle, coffee maker, fridge and sink in the garden. We would very happily stay again!

What a great possibility to sleep (and dine) on a yacht. An unbelievable friendly and perfect host. We loved every minute. Perfect opportunity to visit the old town of Gaeta. Our recommendation: let the Captain arrange a dinner at the Upper Deck like we did! Delicious food, good wine and incredible atmosphere. Thank you so much!
