Quite old accommodation. No airconditioning. Tough beds, like beton. You need a healthy back to stay there.

The house is lovely, and so is the host Margherita! The big highlights of the house for me are the space, the excellent equipment, the garden, the quiet and the location (immediate access to the Valtournenche, but also close to Aosta and to the other valleys.

Chatillon is next to Saint-Vincent, which is a pleasant village with good restaurants and a very nice SPA.
The location is quite central to the Aosta Valley, so you are about between 30 to 60 minutes away from most interesting hiking spots.
The Aosta Valley has also plenty of beautiful castles that are definitely worth visiting.

The restaurants disappointed us because at times we found them closed. Bistroquet, Atmosphere and Summer were the ones we found open. Bistroquet was the best for what we wanted, being close to the hotel. opens at 19.00 and above all good food and friendly staff.

Flew to Malpensa and set off to ski in Cervinia with a hire car. As Cervinia can be expensive and we were unsure of road conditions this town was a great place to stay en route. Clean and comfortable .

Chatillion is cosy small town from wich you can get in 25 minutes to different ski-resorts. In front of the house where we rented apartment there is Carefour supermarket, in 10 meters distance bakery with big choice of sweets.

Incredibly beautiful place to visit.
Incredibly beautiful place to visit. We loved our stay there! It is surrounded by these majestic, snowy mountains all around. We care for clean air and tranquility, and you bet you will find both there! We visited many castles in the region and we did it all by bus and long hikes. It is somewhat easy (and cheap) to travel around Aosta valley by bus. Ussel castle in Châtillon was an awesome uphill hike. We also visited Fénis castle, Verrès castle, the city of pont-Saint-Martin and it's historic roman bridge etc. There's a lot to see around there! Be prepared to walk a lot though, and uphill with intense elevations. We also went skiing in Breuil-Cervinia (about an hour north from Châtillon). Super recommended! If you like history, clean air, tranquility, medieval streets and castles and breathtaking landscapes, you should consider a trip to Châtillon or the cities nearby.
About the food: we are vegetarians, and since this is a small city, all restaurants will serve traditional food or options that we don't eat. For most people who eat meat, that will not be an issue at all.

We were surprised was how expensive it is to use the motorway from Chatillon to the neighbouring village of Aosta. A ten minute drive on the motorway costs 15.90 euros. Whereas a one hour drive from Turin Airport (Caselle) to Chatillon costs only 12 euros.
This hotel is an absolute gem. The decor and interior is superb, apparently it's in the traditional style of the region. The rooms are in the same style and are very comfortable. Then there's the breakfast plenty to choose from all good quality. Best of all the staff are exceptionally good, from the check in to the breakfast and the checkout everyone is friendly helpful and efficient. I will say it's all round the best hotel i have ever stayed in.
Very homely, with great views of Chatillon and the mountains. A peaceful night’s sleep. Nice breakfast. Lovely hosts who booked us a table at a great local restaurant and who we enjoyed chatting to at breakfast.
Free private parking is offered by the hotel. We enjoyed the indoor pool 1h per day also included in the price. The staff was helpful and always available even when I asked them to stay an additional night.
Hotel is situated in the centre of Chatillon and is easy to get to from the bus station. We were able to use our room much sooner than expected. The room had everything we needed.
