The Sulfner exceeded our expectations - the location is exquisite, peaceful and picture-perfect surroundings while an easy drive from Bolzano and Merano. 5 days in avalegno would have been enough but we had 2 of those days travelling. So recommended time is 5 - 7 days for people like us who do not like to Jam Pack their days. Its is beautifully scenic and well maintained. Take note that the botanic gardens are closed in winter. Aditionally whilst places advertise the availability of renting all ski gear, no one rents snow shoes, pants or jackets, so plan to bring your own so as not to miss out on the fun.
