The hotel, staff and location were excellent and really met my expectation. However, the room could have been a little more spacious while the bed must be more comfortable. The breakfast was good, however, it could have been excellent had the bread been baked fresh and warm. Also, they should news channels in English to meet the global audience.
Overall, an enjoyable experience,

Surprisingly comfortable stay: spacious room, excellent bed, we had a good rest. Very clean, room had everything you might need. Good position, close enough to train and ferry, and yet close to old town.
The stuff - gentleman in the evening shift - was VERY kind and gave us super helpful information about our upcoming ferry travel. Breakfast - also very good, plenty of options, home made cakes, pastries, local specialties, the best breakfast we had on our whole trip, my 11-year old boy enjoyed it. The old town is within 10-15min walk, easily.

On arrival at the station, Ancona seems a bit hectic and polluted. However, the further you get towards the old centre, the more appealing it becomes. The port is fascinating and the walk up through the small streets to the cathedral is full of great views and architectural gems. There are some good places to eat and drink, and the place has a good buzz to it: culturally diverse, easy to walk around.

We came a day before our ferry trip to Split.
We came a day before our ferry trip to Split. In town, we liked the feel of this working city. We found different food then we had been eating which was fun and spent some time in the square. We ate greek gyros and hamburgers which were a nice change up from pasta and pizza.Next time I come for a ferry I would either go to the ferry ticket office to pick up copies of my ticket as soon as I got off the train (it is close by). If I am staying in a hotel, I would go to the port, find the 20 bus to take you to get your tickets and then return on the bus. The walk to the ticket center from town was difficult and at times without sidewalks.

None of my American friends have ever heard if Ancona, but I'd go back in a heartbeat. It's an important port city and is surprisingly picturesque. There's lots of variety - the harbor, the beach the churches on hills, lively palazzi, many restaurants. And so much history. Renting a bike is a great way to get around given many historical sites are on very steep hills.

Ancona may not be an obvious holiday destination, but there's a scruffy charm to it that I like, and there's enough to do here for a couple of days. It's also a good base from which to explore the Marche region of Italy - I used trains and buses to do full-day and half-day trips to numerous interesting towns during my ten-night. (Smaller villages would require a car.)

Ancona in winter is not a tourist destination, but for those who want to experience small town Italy it has much to offer. I would recommend a visit if you are already familiar with the country. The tourist office map has 4 walks which take you around the centre. The Mole has a wonderful museum where blind, partially sighted and curious people can touch all the sculpture casts. Ancona is well connected by bus and train. The Friday market was fascinating.

Very interesting port city with a charming, historic old town. View from the cathedral perched on one promontory is magnificent… and the walk back down through the ancient streets is interesting: friendly people, good and some great restaurants serving local specialties. The Marche wines from the area are a joy to discover.
this was a stopover hotel for us on the long drive from Greece back to the UK. driving and arriving at the end of the day and tired, this hotel fired me up with its location near the pebbly beaches around Ancona, as well as a delightful pool. But it is the facilities that are superb. Outstanding restaurant, brilliant dinner (probably the best of our long holiday) and an amazing breakfast that will stay forever in the memory
The hotel is very modern, clean, and very comfortable. The individuals who worked at the hotel were very professional, helpful, and overall extremely nice. The breakfast was great, the double espresso was energizing, and the staff always were smiling!!
Overall excellent hotel, right near the center of Ancona.
The old fashion but modern feeling of the hotel . The reception staff were very helpful and friendly . Help us with an early check in and taxi to railway station . The pool was terrific as the beach was not close to the accommodation . The quality of the bed linen and bedding was excellent .
The Seeport Hotel in Ancona is a lovely hotel. It has spacious, comfortable and well-furnished rooms. Our rooms had lovely views of the port, sea and old town of Ancona. The bistro served delicious food. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
