Amazing setting, very comfortable room and bed. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Nice touch of a welcome drink, bar was amazing and pool an added bonus!

So the inside of the dome very nice and well thought out, if there were 4 adults staying I think it would have been very tight for space unless it was for one night, if you had kids then maybe ok but they will need to be ok with heights as the second bed is high up with no real barrier to stop you coming out. The log fire well stocked and the room was very warm
Featuring a sauna, Lax-á Asgardur Cottages is set in Selfoss. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking.

The property is about 15-20 minutes north of Selfoss where you can get most things you would need for a self catering holiday. The location also means that most of the Golden Circle spots are not far away and we even drove down to Diamond Beach and back in a day, which was a journey never to be forgotten for its superb scenery and iceberg boat trip.
The house is easy to find even if down a track off the main road (Google maps will take to the the track that is now blocked, so you need the other one about 30m further north). There is ample parking for up to 3 cars. When we went into the house it looked far better than the photos, especially the deck out over the river which was superb (on a nice day!). The views from the kitchen window and the lounge were also wonderful. One reason I chose this house is that it seemed to be far more nicely furnished than many others I had looked at in the area and we were not let down by the reality.
Even though the description said 5 bathrooms, there were only in fact 2 shower rooms (one en suite and the other a family bathroom - the other 3 were hand basins off each twin room), however this was never a problem and there were 6 adults in our family. The kitchen is well equipped and the huge lounge is great for relaxing after a long day's hiking, horse riding or whatever. The TV had Netflix. There are blinds on each window that are effective (you need them if it never gets dark).
The sauna was a hit as was the hot tub outside, again with superb views.
Communication from the owners (Vala) was quick and she was always very helpful.
Our children (very fussy and frank in their views) thought this was the best place we have stayed in so far, which is saying something as I always try and find nice houses wherever we go as a family.
Overall I would recommend this property highly to families coming to sample the true wonders of Iceland's scenery - the house is spacious and very cosy on colder days.
