Beautiful vintage themed rural hotel. Staff is amazing - took all the labor to inform us when northern lights were out, and showed best location to watch from.

Very cozy! Also liked that it was a little away from town. We had a lot of cloud coverage when we stayed, but i bet in clear skies in the winter you'd see some beautiful stars and even the aurora!

Great dinner. Wonderful breakfast. We had two rooms. Had problems locking the doors. Our daughters’ door flew open due to wind. When they notified the management the next morning, they said “we know “.

Liked the large windows of the room.
There was also a common seating area with windows overlooking the field, which was a wonderful sight when the sun is up with blue skies.
Breakfast was good too, besides some basic items which you can help yourselves with, there is a list of 2-3 items which you can pick one (ie: ala carte item freshly made, eg. waffles).
And sitting by the door (locked) I managed to gaze at few local sheep grazing nearby.
The evening dinners were very tasty! I think the best lamb dish I had in Iceland was here. There was also a good selection at breakfast.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. There was a very hospitable atmosphere to the place.
Our room was a good size and, bar the curtains, had been modernised well. There was also a sink, which was helpful as we were sharing the main bathroom facilities.
You really felt you were in the wildness, and from our window you could hear sheep and the nearby waterfall.
Great, cozy hotel in a beautiful and serene area. We booked the room with shared bathroom. The room and the bathroom were both neat and clean. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Great place to stay near Fjallsárlón, Diamond beach and Jökulsárlón (30 minutes away).
The whole experience, location and quality of the rooms. Also, having the breakfast on the location with local produce topped it all. If returning to Iceland, definitely one of the spots to book again.
