Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon, hotel in Skaftafell

Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon offers luxurious accommodation in Hnappavellir. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant and hotel bar.

Very modern hotel not far from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon so great for our night after touring the ice caves. Room was comfortable and clean with a very soft bed and a fridge which was handy. Lovely toiletries, robe and slippers too, these would’ve been handy for using the spa facilities which we didn’t do.

stunning, make sure you walk all the way down the trail, there are two other gorgeous waterfalls that a lot of people missed by not going all the way to end end of the trail (which is only a few hundred meters long).

This is an amazing place to hike and see some glorious views - especially on a clear day - which can be a bit tricky. We were extremely fortunate to have some of the the sunniest days recorded. Could not ask for a more comfortable hike. There are glacier hikes that you can pay for but honestly parking at the Park and hiking up yourself is something you will not soon forget. Not too laborious, but you defintely feel like you are exercising. Loved every minute of this hike and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Our room was at the back of the hotel and had a magnificent view of a snow capped mountain. We went for a walk (suggested by receptionist) after checking in to the glacier at the back of the hotel. Easy path and worth doing. The room was very clean and cosy with comfortable beds. A good night’s sleep. Breakfast was a buffet and plentiful.

Great hotel, we can’t drive so thanks to this hotel we had the opportunity to explore the area! Very grateful. Hotel has a lovely restaurant and easy hike from the backyard to the nearest sleeve of the glacier. It’s also just on the opposite side of the meeting point for multiple hiking agents and bus station.

The location of the hotel is closed to the glacier. Breakfast is right on time so we can go out for the ice cave adventure early in the morning. The room is standard for an international hotel, good fit for 3 people in one room. Thanks for recommending us the best local guide tour for the ice cave.

We liked the location, it was close to the glacier and the walk behind the hotel was interesting. It was easy to find. We had a lovely dinner at the gourmet restaurant that night and it was very good.
