It was quiet and clean location l. Perfect home from home to crash from seeing the sights along from Keflavík airport. The hot tub was great after a long day hiking Glymur! 😊

We had a great stay! The cabin is cosy and warm. However, the best part of our stay were the farm animals! Our son absolutely loves animals. The owner asked us if he wanted to help feed the horses. We got a tour in the stables and my son could pet the beautiful horses and ask a lot of questions about them. We also visited the sheep in another building. If you like farm animals you should definitely stay here!
There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more...
There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).
Well maintained and updated farmhouse overlooking the valleys of Reykholt. Had a fun breakfast with the hostess/owner and other guests - chatting about our experiences and home countries. My room was charming and comfortable with farmhouse decor. Really appreciated the cluster of multiple bathrooms and showers for the guests. There is a hot tub on the balcony. Always enjoy seeing dogs on the premises.
We stayed one night at Hotel A with a group of photographers. The hotel is the nearest to Hraunfossar waterfall and the location is perfect. Lovely and helpful staff, the food was also very nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant is in the main building but closes at 8 pm. But don't worry, if you arriving late. If you call in advance, the staff will make sure you get a dinner even at eight.
The house is beautifully appointed. Beds are so comfortable and there is a hot tub and a sauna. You can make a great meal in the kitchen and the relax outside looking at an incredible view with a glass of wine. The perfect place to unwind. Excellent blinds for bright summer nights. Lots of great hiking and natural attractions to see. Recommend checking out the tours organized by Hotel Husafell
The guest house was clean and well managed. Our hosts were friendly and the location was exceptionally beautiful. We enjoyed walking around the farm, seeing the sheep, Icelandic horses and sheep dogs. Using the common kitchen was a way to interact with the other guests and find out what was good to see in the area.
The cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, a perfect bolt hole from the Icelandic weather. The location was brilliant - wonderful views across the valley to the mountain ranges beyond. The host was very friendly and welcoming, even making time to show us the sheep and lambs!
Inga and Siggi were wonderful and welcoming and the house was like a 5-star hotel private property!!! I have stayed at many high-end hotels and this house exceeded them. The owners were accessible and checked in on us frequently to make sure we had whatever we needed.
The hot tub was such a great way to end the day of exploring the Icelandic countryside. The kitchen had everything we needed. The fireplace was cozy. The beds were dreamy. Truly the best place I have ever stayed. I wish we could have spent more time.
In one word..EVERYTHING! The house is amazing. A beautiful place to stay in a great location for exploring Iceland. The hosts were brilliant and have set the highest standard! It will be hard to find another place to match Holt Villa!
Adorable. Really loved it there. Don’t mind people saying it’s dirty, it’s really not, it’s just a very typical summer cottage in the countryside - they are popular in Iceland so come here for an authentic summer (or winter) night :)
Thank you for the night spent at your Gusthouse ... everything went perfectly, cleanliness, good equipment, great location. Very kind owners ... hope you are doing well ... greetings from Reykholt to Reykholt
We booked and stayed at Fosshotel Reykholt to visit the Snorrastofa Museum, Reykholtskirkja and Snorralaug (Thermal bath). The Hotel was very good, great location to visit this historic area.
The main course (lamb) at the dinner they served was excellent. nice location and views of the surroundings. close to Hraunfossar waterfalls, one of the most beautiful in Iceland.
Gorgeous location and super helpful owner were the icing on top of a unique stay with views to the sky and wild Icelandic weather. I would highly recommend the property.
