Really unique experience. Staff took us on a boat ride around the glacier before bringing us to the yurt and it was private and exceptional. Just gorgeous.

The room was great and the hotel was beautiful. The sauna and hot tub are especially amazing perks in the winter. The room had a little coffee maker and we asked for a kettle which was provided. The staff was nice and the location was secluded enough to not suffer light pollution but close to meeting spots for tours and the diamond beach.
The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

Wonderful location from which to explore the glaciers of eastern Iceland! Very friendly hosts and clean, cozy spot.
The service was very good. The reception and dining staff were amazing. Super friendly.
Dinner had good options and was delicious. Breakfast is fairly standard inclusive continental.
Location was 100/10 far more scenic than I expected. Right underneath a mountain and only a 15 min drive from guided tour meeting points and glaciers

Hof, like many places in Iceland, is not really a town but a cluster of houses at the base of a mountain; there are no restaurants or services other than the hotel. It is a convenient place to stay when visiting Skaftafell National Park.

Adventure Hotel Hof is a comfortable, clean, modest hotel. Staff and friendly and helpful, and the meals are good. Adventure Hotel Hof is well suited for the budget conscious traveller. The setting is beautiful, but the town of Hof is very very small. Blink, and you’ll miss it!

Hof seemed to be a small city, perfectly located if you are renting a car to see the area, we came from Vik, and we drove all over the Jökulsárlón and returned on the evening to the hotel. as every village in Iceland, you need to pay attention to the exit, but google map was able to find it and we didn't have any problems. We booked the 2 double room, assuming we needed to share the bathroom, little did we know that the two rooms are part of a cottage and it was like a big 2 bedroom house rather than 2 double room. Breakfast was amazing, and I suppose in aurora season, you can look up and see the northern like, but even if there is no season, waking up to the nature was mind blowing. it was perfect for us, 4 friends who did the ring road in 9 days!
The guesthouse is located in Hof which is a tiny village of maybe 8 or 10 houses. Beautiful surrounding with a little church, very picturesque. It is very quiet. The room and the very modern shared bathroom was very clean. There is a small shared space where 3 or 4 people can sit and have a coffee/tea or heat something in the microwave. There is also a shared fridge.
the staff were all so so lovely and friendly. It was a bit more basic than some hotels we stayed in but the remote location meant we got to see the northern lights from our bedroom window!
