Hotel Hjalteyri was spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The view was lovely, and it was just a short drive to Akureyi where it was easy to find restaurants and grocery stores. There was only one restaurant in the immediate ares, but we didn't eat there and can't comment.

The house was very comfortable and surrounded by woods and a view of the water. Kitchen was well stocked. We could not use the outside deck area, since it was raining.

The location is great - perfect if you want a view on the fjord and peace, and the cottage was cozy and seemed quite new. The kitchen was useful and had enough equipment to make meals, and there was also a gas barbecue outside which was pretty convenient since it is under a roof and therefore usable even in rainy weather. The heating was good and the place at a very nice temperature when we arrived.

The bungalow was very comfortable and cosy, located in the woods. Fairytale and very romantic place. There is a queen size bed, video option with movies, table and small kitchen inside. The bathroom was enough big. We will recommend for dinner the Eyri restaurant on the lake, only 10 minutes away from the property. It´s a gourmet one (higher price level) but all very tasty with an excellend wine choice. Near Akureyri we will highly recommend also to visit the Forest Lagoon (thermal baths).
Overlooking the Kaldbakur Mountain and Fnjóská River, Wi-Fi is free on site. Laufás Heritage Museum is 1.2 mi away. Barbecue facilities are available on site.

The house is very cozy and had everything we needed to spend a night and cook a meal. We enjoyed having a grill right on the porch.

There was a carnival with a concert that was steps away which was a great to experience. When I entered the hotel it was like I entered a different world. You could not hear a thing doing on outside. It was wonderful! The room was clean, staff was nice and accommodating.

Staff super helpful
Gave great recommendation for a local restaurant with excellent food at good value
The name Viking Country Club is misleading. It is a house with 12rooms, some very small. Not a quaint inn nor hotel nor charming. It was a full house and there was only 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. I question if that even meets a health code. Our friends room was so small that they couldn’t open their 2suitcases and they had a lot of flies in their room. The husband eventually slept in the car. We were asked to remove our shoes and place them by the door and then some of us had trouble obtaining the right shoes. One woman could not find hers. We were to stay 2 nights but left the following morning, writing the host a note since he was not there. It advertised continental breakfast but they provided milk and coffee if you wanted to make your own. Some people wrote good reviews but this was the worst place any of us (4 people) stayed in.
