Very quiet stand alone cottage. Furnishings were of quality and kitchen was well stocked. Huge washer and dryer came in handy. It was also very clean and cosy. Our family was very comfortable staying here. Once out on the main road, it was easy to explore the sights in the southwest region.

Hotel Búðir is a must stay if staying over on the peninsula.
Hotel Búðir is a must stay if staying over on the peninsula. We stayed for one night and it was a perfect stop after a long day. They have a happy hour in the lounge from 1600-1800 hours. Pleasant and helpful staff. Just do it!

Very nice location next to the Budir black church. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Our room had a nice view, over the water towards snow-capped mountains. The restaurant serves really good food and the French sommelier knows his wines. The overall feel is a mix between hotel pampering and visiting your favourite old aunt; the latter mainly because of the old (antique?) furniture and embroidered table clothes in the restaurant.
On the Internet ppl say this is the most romantic hotel in Iceland and the restaurant offers the best in Iceland. For that, no I do not think so. Room facilities are at best basic. There is not even coffee machine, catle, small fridge, no desk, none. Way to basic for this price. Restaurant, food wise I think the chief is trying top hard to be fancy. Hugely expensive, for the taste we had, no, it's not good value for money.
It was an excellent place to stay. The location, staff, restaurant were all top notch and well above expectation. I would go back any time of the year. The hotel was very cozy and friendly. You have to go to the restaurant on site and the cocktails were tasty as well.
Got the worst room with workers at the window (we took the cheapest so it’s deserved lol) but the hotel is incredible, it’s decoration is very unique, the location is incredible too and that black chapel rocks
