My bond with Hotel Aruvi dates back nearly 8 years ago.
Being a native of Chennai i was asked to explore for the nearest hill station and Yelagiri came to mind. It was first time and being a family trip dad was skeptical on the Hotel Accomodation. He advised to book rooms at Hotel Hills as its an age old property and he has stayed there during his childhood but i wanted to explore for any other option.
That is when i read through the reviews of Hotel Aruvi & especially the hospitality of Mr. Ravi, every person who stayed at this property mentioned his name. I really wanted to meet this person & convinced my dad in booking our stay here.
My decision of staying here was the best and since then its no looking back for me & my family when it comes to hotel accommodation at Yelagiri.
Ravi got promoted from Mr. to Anna post my stay at this property 8 years ago and since then he & his mom are like a family to us.
There are hundreds of properties at Yelagiri currently but for us it has always been Hotel Aruvi.
Not to mention Ravi Anna craze for automobiles - Bikes / SUV & latest addition Army Jeep.
We guests / tourists might have many options with regards to comfort, hotel amenities , hotel location, food but above all hospitality matters the most as it decides whether you had a plesant stay or not, if not the entire trip would be ruined.
I would rate more than 100 when it comes to the hospitality of Ravi Anna & his mother.
So if planning for a short trip to Yelagiri, pack your bags & head straight to Hotel Aruvi.

We loved everything about the hotel and Yelagiri. Unlike Kodai and Ooty, the entire town, touristic places and the small villages around this area looked very clean and well maintained. I would also like to mention about the good well maintained road around this area.
The only disappointing factor is that the restaurants in Yelagiri is closed after lunch and reopens only aroumd 7.30pm for light snacks like dosa’ idly etc, however few of the places do serve evening snacks like bajji and pakoras. The weather was great and drizzled most of the time which added more fun to our trip.

There is nothing much to see in Yelagiri, if anyone just want to go somewhere with kids in weekend then can plan here as there are few variety of parks where kids can enjoy.
Lake and boating is OK OK.
There is no hills view point as such, only while travelling through Ghat road you can see the view.

One day and One Night with camping experience is good enough in Yelagiri.
Must visit Location: Fundera Bird's Park, Go Karting (Not a big track but get some experience specially kids above 12 year who are fond of cars), One thrill valley is 4 to 5 hours.
Botanical garden is very small and not much of a variety. I do not know why they have keep entry fees. it is not worth. If some one wants to get Jain food, visit Jain's Royal for food. It is buffet.

The Fundura bird park is a gem. Walk through the bird enclosure was thrilling. The Selfie panda is another nice place to take pictures. It is an open air art gallery. It has a large number of art pieces for one to get photographed with
The boating in the lake is good, It is good to see that the boatmen insist on tourists wearing a jacket for floating in case of accidents.
The Nature park had a musical fountain on Sunday.
The boat club road is bustling with activity on weekends. We had breakfast and vegetarian lunch buffet at Hotel Hills. They were very good.
Just one word of caution. The autos and taxis are a rip-off and leave you with a poor taste.

This is a very small, clean hill station with a lake. There are enough activities for children, but nothing much to see. Some temples, kids' adventure activities. Weather is great. Comfortable drive, open highway, 3 hours from Bangalore. We saw one KSRTC bus too. Not too crowded when we went on a weekend in November.

Multiple adventure parks for adults as well as kids, if you are looking for some adventure then this is the right place to visit for a day or even two if you want to explore all the adventure parks..
The birds park also very good and maintained...
Apart from this the usual boating are not that well maintained.
If you are looking for a very cold place to stay then this might not be very cold like ooty or Yercad .. Own transportation is best choice..
Perfect location on the Yelagiri Hills, approach road is little bit scary and need to be laid in proper manner, facilities and arrangements were great, staffs were friendliness. as the room walls are just made with a bamboo stick and tarpaulin, the outside noise of workers working around can be hear properly, this was quiet disturbing our privacy and who prepers calmness. Breakfast provided is of good and healthy one, cut fruits and vegetables, fenu greek water, ajwain water is impressive. soaked kissmiss is good idea.
It is not only BF & Location, No cleanliness, false sealing is Brocken, not able to use wash basin, no hot water, bath room leaking, non-cleaned towel, even after 3 time complaints , no staff came repaired, rude behavior, even staff switched off electricity once in night & once in early morning, after personally proved, they switched on power.
We pity on maintenance. We strongly recommend Booking.com should not be part of this hotel any more & with your influence please get back money I paid..
Best place for groups of families carrying babies and friends who need to cook on their own, All the kitchen items are there including masalas and tea. I went with a 2-year-old kid so we had to cook and this place met my expectations. The price is a little high for Yelagiri. 2
While trying to check about availability of food at 10 they informed me that guests are not permitted late in the Yelagiri. And we had to travel another 2 hours to another hotel.
Could have informed at the time of booking.
