We recently stayed at “The Hive”, Wayanad, for six nights. The overall experience has been very good. It’s a beautiful place for a vacation, especially if you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the cities and to unwind.
The property is located in the middle of a coffee trail, very picturesque, surrounded by thick forests all around. If you are a nature lover and looking for some relaxed time, this is a great place to be to enjoy the serene and peaceful surroundings. It was an amazing feeling to wake up each morning to the cooing of birds and a fresh breath of air.
All the accommodations are beautifully built on the stilts on the slopes and give a great view of the surroundings. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quite modern, with all basic amenities. All the villas have independent balconies with the garden/forest views, and one can sit for hours watching the nature. The bathroom is well equipped, very clean, with separate shower cubicles, and has a round-the-clock hot water facility since Wayanad can get quite cold during winter months. The housekeeping team was prompt and did a great job each day. A special mention about Shamas from the team for his great attitude.
Breakfast spread was quite decent, (dosas can be better) and the restaurant serves good food overall, always willing to customise to your requirements. Since we chose to have all three meals for all six days at their restaurant, it was important that they offered us a good spread. Luckily, we were really pampered and very well looked after by the restaurant team, especially Anisha, Sushmita, and Reuben, throughout our stay, which was probably the highlight of our stay.

I was looking for a weekend getaway home and I found Brook Land Estate in Wayanad online. The best part was the view of the lush green forests, waterfall and mountains from my room itself. The caretakers are very sweet and help around with whatever you need. the drive from bangalore is also very good only with smooth roads and takes about 6 hours max. The infinity pool view is just the best. The food is also very delicious. There are a lot of board games to play inhouse. You can also do a trek to the waterfalls. It's a short trek but it's a lot of fun. Don't miss on that. We came back to Bangalore fresh and rejuvenated after our stay at Brook Land Estate in Wayanad.
Disliked · nothing that i can remember was bad. it was all good.

Have visited Wayanad multiple times before and visited this time just to escape from the scorching heat wave at my city. Only idea was to spend some time to enjoy the climate than site seeing. As for other travelers its a beautiful place to enjoy. Ideal stay would be 3 to 4 days not less maybe more.
You have multiple sight seeing options like, edakkal caves, soojippara & meenmutti waterfalls, Chembra peak (The highest in Wayanad) trekking (Now they are allowing). Pookkot lake boating, En Ooru, muthanga wild life park are some. Now there are plenty of adventure clubs, glass bridges, theme parks etc., too.

Definitely don't make the mistake of going here during peak season (holidays, Christmas, etc.). Way too many people going to a small number of underwhelming attractions, and many of these places offer only limited entry, after which they close down. Almost every place we went to was closed by the time we got there (in the morning!)
One good thing are the roads, which are very smooth and well-paved. I was genuinely impressed that even in rural or forested areas, I very rarely came across a bad patch of road.
We came across almost no good restaurants that serve anything except the usual 'North Indian/Chinese' cuisine that everyone's had a million times before. Where are the authentic Kerala-style restaurants? The few that were there were probably small dhaba-style places, which aren't comfortable for tourists or families. And if you're vegetarian, Wayanad as a whole is quite unwelcoming.
The hills and forests are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but that's little comfort when the attractions themselves aren't very...attractive. Even a simple lake requires an entry ticket (limited, of course). Why can't I just walk around a lake past 5:30PM?
I really wanted to like Wayanad, but I don't recommend it for anyone looking for a leisurely trip to a quiet place in the hills.

Great place . Lot of greenery . Friendly people.
Great place . Lot of greenery . Friendly people. Restaurants offer mostly South Indian Non Veg cuisine.
Wayanad is a District and NOT a town. Sight seeing places are far from each other. Most sighting seeing close by 5.00 PM. Requires meticulous planning to cover all important sites in 3 days.
