Udaipur is one of the beautiful and cultural city of Rajasthan. One can find the good view of lakes, cultural music, boat riding, good food, and more. However traffic is really worst at the old city. Narrow roads causes huge traffic jam problem. I would advice traveler to book a bike or scooty to ride in the city.

A great place and quite unique.
A great place and quite unique. Lake Pichola breathtaking at sunset - worth taking the motor launch out to Jagmandir Lake Palace. We also very much enjoyed visiting the city palace (worth doing by tuk tuk as car access difficult, also it is an exciting journey.) Some wonderful shops outside who donate all proceeds to charity, we bought some very nicely made pieces. Not a great deal for children, boat rides/shopping and the ubiquitous time at the hotel pool are probably the most appealing things for them.

If you are not afraid of a little walks to get to your destination, living within the old city is great. It almost reminded me of Europe with small, narrow, winding streets. Local people did not bother any foreign nationals. The tour guides at the Udaipur Palace spoke many different languages fluently. Just be smart like you would be in any other country when purchasing things.

I found visit to city palace is not worth. The tickets are very expensive. Better you visit places where entry fee is null or less or places maintained by government. City palace is maintained by private trust.

We stayed for four nights in the hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, and air conditioned, with a stunning view across the lake up to the city palace. It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Udaipur old town. We were brilliantly looked after by Shankar and Mat. The rooftop restaurant is affordable and serves both tasty veg and non-veg options which were fine for our soft western stomachs!!! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for top value for money in Udaipur.
We stayed at Hotel Udaipur Palace coz v like Rajasthani Traditional culture so when I enter in hotel udaipur palace parking there were so many paintings of Rajasthani Village culture its very attractive and room painting is awesome I feel very honoured to stay in this hotel. All female staff are very polite. Specially vidhya madam and Lalita Madam is very caring and very polite with the guest.good welcome... Food is very delicious 😋
Cost: very cheap compare to other hotels
Location: in old udaipur city, just behind city palace, main market is very close
Staff: very supporting, helped us to find good restro and many time staff person brought food for us at room and provided good service.
Rooftop: enjoy your lunch/dinner and drink
Good room space.
I think you wouldn't get this kind of facilities in cheap amount.
Highly recommended
loved the atmosphere of the hotel - a beautiful palace with so much character. We were sorry to leave as we enjoyed our stay so much. Food was excellent with beautiful views. Highly recommend this hotel to others who are planning to stay in Udaipur.
