There is so much to do here. I stayed for 2 weeks longer than planned. Tapovan is the place to go for Yoga and western style cafes + amazing places to eat. Rishikesh market and centre is bustling, loud and a little overwhelming if you are a first time traveller to India. I would recommend only going there by tuktuk to visit the Aarti at Triveni Ghat and the amazing streets lined with markets, but not to stay in the centre, stay in Tapovan.

I love it.
I love it. The harmony of animals with people there was beautiful. The Ganges was magnificent. The people were friendly and trusting. Everything was so much value for money. I love India for this. And the fact that Rishikesh offers the best of India - food, service, colours, ambience, spirituality, fun - you feel like you have come home to where you belong.

Rishikesh is a vibrant place steeped in history and culture.
Rishikesh is a vibrant place steeped in history and culture. The opposite side to the town of the river Ganges has a range of small shops, temples and interesting places to visit.
When getting taxis, rickshaws, etc, they don't use meters, and only tell you the price per person. Despite living in a holy city, the operators of public transport are unscrupulous and will happily overcharge if you are not aware of expected pricing between destinations.
Like other places in India, "tour guides" will take you to commission driven locations such as temples and shops. The prices of items in these shops can be twice as much as in other shops around the corner
The Beatles "museum" has exorbitant entry fees for foreigners, and probably has more hype than what is there to see.
There is a range of vegetarian food options in the town centre.
A highlight of each evening is the Ganga Arti at Triveni ghat.
Shops and market stalls are open till late offering a variety of clothes, shoes, souvenirs and artefacts.
There are various locations where one can bathe in the Ganges. The most famous is at Triveni ghat, which has concrete steps leading to the river and with chains that you should hold on to when going into the river to avoid being swept away by the fast currents.

Pros:
Pros:
Rafting, mountains, clean air, much fewer people than in most of the Indian cities, hence, much more calm.
Cons:
Uber works terribly; public transportation is very poor. Hard to get in/out or move inside the city.
It is a dry city; hence, alcohol is hard to get.

One of the standout features was the smart TV in each room, allowing us to cast our favorite movies and shows, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The staff members were courteous and very helpful, always ensuring we had everything we needed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Perfect Stayz Hills to anyone planning a trip to Haridwar or Rishikesh for a memorable and hassle-free stay........
I absolutely loved everything about this hotel! It really exceed my expectation. The room was super spacious, clean, bed was comfortable. The location is in a great area of Rishikesh. The restaurant had a lot of variety and delicious meal (I'm so sad I missed breakfast!) - not to mention the great rooftop view. Staff was super helpful. I will definitely come back when staying in Rishikesh.
My 1st visit in rishikesh with family. Stay was good . Hotel staff helping me for everything. Like taxi Booking. Tour plan . Rafting, best thing is hotel near by laxman jhula only 5 minutes walking distance.
The Hotel Foothills is Excellent & over & above my expectations and I will suggest and recommended everyone to stay in this Hotel, whenever you visit Rishikesh.
