Main attraction is murud janjira fort which is great to see but the approach to the fort involves jumping into the water which makes it risky.overall nice place for a short weekend getaway. Good place to eat is right behind murud Marina hotel, patils restraunts, has great fish thalis and coconut jelly

Murud beach is pristine, black sand/clay beach, untouched, hardly any people, great location . The visit to the historic Janjeera fort was our high point. It's a marvelous fort with almost 500 year old history. The beach is great, very nice sunsets and sunrises too on the other side. Water is Crystal clear. The drive from Mumbai is too long and pianful, almost making you wonder if it's worth the effort.
