I feel people should check in before 11 AM
and see Mandu as a whole on the first day including light and sound show.
Next day, after breakfast they should hire a car and go to Maheshwar, Omkareshwar and reach Indore by evening to see the Rajvara and light and sound show there. Don't visit only for Mandu.

There is really a lot to see, and many of the free ruins are just as magnificent as the ones you pay for. Mandu has the potential to become a big hit for travellers if just the food situation improved, read rooftop terraces etc.

Jahaaz Mahal would make an Engineering marvel, made at times when the Industrial Revolution had not begun in Europe. Eating joints are good for local cuisines, however, good Cafes are missing. With my own mode of transportation, it was easy to go around. Mandu has very rich historical past, which is worth a go !

Vast archeological sites. The main ones well maintained . Wonderful to be in a rural unspoilt area . Very friendly local people unspoilt by western tourism.
Not a great selection of hotels and some are a distance from the sites. No tuk tuk available so taxis are only option to get to the outer sites. Possible to hire bikes but road busy with vehicles and animals.
Go soon before it becomes too touristy. Also better to avoid Sundays as very very busy from Indore day trippers.
To see it all you need at least two days

It is a magnificent monument of 17th century.
The jahaz mahal, Jal mahal, hindola mahal, champs baodi, Munj Lake & Kapoor Lake are mesmerising. The water management system is very scientific and beyond description.
Must visit place in Manson.
Local food panya with dal was very delicious.
There are many more places in the city and one day is not enough.
