I liked literally everything! This is arguably the best stay in the area. The vibe is great! A lot of solo travellers head in while passing by, where it's also a nice culture exchange. The owners are very friendly and helpful where they also give guidance on how to go (or should you go) to Kheerganga trek and also if you want to explore the surrounding areas of Pulga, Fairy forest etc. It also has a nice cafe attached where you can order a lot of different stuff (there are also nice Israeli cuisines like Shakshuka and stuff) but the best part is definitely the Caramel coffee (which you get for Rs 50 off if you have booked for a stay). When rain pours and the wind blows, it's really the best vibe having the mountain views and coffee. It also stores a nice gift shop, different story books, comic books, novels, a chessboard and a lot of stuff for artists, like papers/sketch pens etc for fine artists, also guitars for music artists and they play really nice music for the dancers (like me 😛) as well! All in all, the best place to stay/rest if you plan to visit Kalga/Pulga/Kheerganga etc.

My adventure began in Tosh, one of Kasol's renowned hotspots. Seeking a tranquil escape from the crowds, I asked a local cafe owner for a recommendation. He suggested a hike to the nearby village of Kalga. This trek is notably easier than many, offering breathtaking views of picturesque fields and stunning landscapes.
On my return to Tosh, I stumbled upon Vanvas Homestay—an idyllic retreat that truly lives up to its name, meaning "A Stay in Wilderness." After a rewarding hike, Vanvas was the perfect sanctuary to relax and enjoy a delectable meal.
While sipping tea in the cozy cabana, I had the pleasure of meeting Prateek, the owner. His warm hospitality and genuine kindness made my stay exceptional. He not only offered me the finest room on the property but also personally ensured my comfort throughout my visit.
The evening at Vanvas was magical, highlighted by a bonfire and an exquisite dinner prepared by Chef Suraj. The chef’s special cottage cheese curry was one of the most memorable dishes I've tasted in the valley. Emphasizing a holistic lifestyle, Prateek’s homestay promotes the serene seclusion of its location.
That night, I was treated to a spectacular view of the star-studded sky, complemented by the crisp, cool weather. Though my stay was brief, I felt a deep connection with the place and its owners. Before checking out, I already planned my return for Christmas '24.
