The Rough Guide discourages staying in Hassan too the point of not even listing accommodation in favour of Belur. I followed Alex Reynolds' (lostwithpurpose.com ) budget recommendation which is 10 minutes from the Bus Stand and 2 minutes from the 5th Floor rooftop 'Beer Garden Restro' and 1 minute from a good 'english wine shop'

I was only passing through Hasan so did not expect much. Walking around to find a cash machine I could not see much of interest here. I wandered through the small park; which was under major landscaping work. there was construction in many roads so the streets were dusty

Very good breakfast, staff there for us to point us to which meal was spicy or not.
Wifi very good quality, and room clean + spacious + had soaps+toothpaste... well, much more than what we expected.
Given the price, and comparing with an other hotel that we did one day after, great quality, that we recommended to our friends going to come here soon.
Close as well to a supermarket, so in case you want to go buy some souvenirs... this is well located from this point of view.
