A scenic little piece of heaven , Hanle is a must visit for all travellers who wish to get away from the max cities. It brings joy day and night. Day skies are blue with open plains and mountains till your eyes go, all in some gentle pastel palette as if it has been painted with watercolours. At night, with skies that are lit with so many stars , it feels unreal. The clearly visible Milky Way is the main attraction most nights.
The place also offers you shy but amazing wildlife like wild asses , various birds and mountain goats. We also spotted pashmina goats that herders take care of.
Some of the beauty is marred by many riders and cats who aim to only drive at fast speed to get to the highest motor able road. That too is a tourist tick off but if you truly love nature, just wait it out in Hanle and do it at your own pace… and stay in Hor.
