Fantastic location within a stone's throw to the 12th century ruins. Sprawling complex, ahead of its time when set up in the 1960s, now in disrepair. However, the staff, prices, and food were excellent and made up for the lack of modernisation.
Located in Hampi, Greenstone Resort Hampi offers 3-star accommodation with a garden.

Despite being very busy (especially during Christmas), it is also a very peaceful place.
There are lots of very quiet and picturesque trails, you can just walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The temples don't disappoint either.
If you are into bouldering you will love it as well.
Overall there is plenty of things to do, nature, culture, food...
Bonus: watching the sunset from the Hippie island viewpoint!

This is a spectacular World Heritage Town spanning several square kilometers. I would recommend staying in a homestay in Hampi village, adjacent to many important sights rather than a hotel in Hospet, 15 kms away or in New Hampi, which is 2-3 kms away but lacks the atmosphere of the village. Vantage points for viewing sunrise and sunset are easier to access from the village. Further, since a lot of walking is involved, having a room to rest in, close by, is useful.

The monument is great to watch.
The monument is great to watch. We can imagine 16th century arts was created with lot of creativity. Give credit to ASI for unearthing the great works of Vijaysnagara kingdom. Local govt can make lot of improvements in tourist facilities as this site is UNESCO tagged site

Amazing place with rich culture and heritage . I recommend to engage a govt certified guide to get full n right information. School students should be taken to this place for annual excursions, to imbibe knowledge of our own Indian culture in young minds.

Good for a short trip during a long weekend.
Good for a short trip during a long weekend. It is an economy trip since stay options are reasonably priced and food is also cheap. Sightseeing places are affordable and easily accessible by local autos. But coming from Mumbai, I found the autos high priced and really need some hard bargaining. Also souvenirs are slightly high priced.
Visiting the Virupaksha temple was a divine experience.

Guest house is exactly besides virupaksha temple. Location wise is it’s a great option to stay. Walkable distance from Hampi bus stand. You don’t need to take rickshaw to reach this place from Hospet. You can take a bus from Hospet bus stand and reach Hampi bus stand. Hot water for bath is available throughout the day. Drinking water was provided in the central lobby.
You're in the heart of the city, very homely and super clean room & washroom. Kishore and his appa were the best hosts, great recommendations and even made arrangements on request. Communication with the host was friendly and they were available throughout the stay.
Tip: You may not need to book air con as the room itself is rather cool and has a super strong fan.
Hotel in the heart of Hampi village. A stone's throw away from the temple complex. All the northern attractions are within walking distance. Clean and comfortable room. The hotel offers delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of restaurants nearby. Everything is perfect!
Breakfast and dinner at the hotel had loads of options and was all delicious! The hotel itself was lovely to return to at the end of the day and seemed like a calm and restful place to reflect on the beauty of Hampi! Highly recommend. kids enjoyed the pool, the food and open spaces!
