Beautiful property. We could see many peacocks in the lawn and on the trees. The food quality and variety were excellent. The staff is very well trained and polite. I would name a few people from the restaurant - Chef Naresh and Narayan. Other staff member Ajit Parmar and one more his colleague.
They have one good system of serving high tea in the sprawling lawn at 5.00 PM everyday. We had cookies, sandwiches, cakes and pakodas. We really enjoyed this.

There are many rockcut Jain monuments around the Fort in Gwalior and it is difficult to find out where they are. I found out too late that there were more than the Urwai rockcut sculptures. However, asking people protecting the monument on the road up to the fort, we had time to visit another spectacular site further down the hillside. They are all magical - so sad that muslims/ moguls have defaced many of them.
The fort itself, along with the temples outside the fort, were outstanding - beautiful carvings and, in the case of the fort, colourful facades. Fort is sadly a bit run down. Just below the fancy gate by the palace is the Jain rock-cut temple with "0" in an inscription - pretty little temple.
Tansen's tomb was also a lovely site.
Plenty to see for 2 days. I need to go back to see the remaining Jain rock cut monuments as our driver couldn't find them.

no tv channels/ all blocked/ upon my request staff declined to open channels/ escalated to Director and sake team/ then by nigh 10 pm they unblocked few channels like star movies and hbo/ otherwise only DD and Gubbare channel was there/ be careful when you stay here/ ask that TV has basic English movie and sports' channels else it will be surprises with big TV and DD to watch

I have stayed in Gwalior four times over the last ten years.
I have stayed in Gwalior four times over the last ten years. The Gwalior Fort is one of the most impressive I have seen and a very rewarding visit. I have used Gwalior as a base for visits to other historic sites around Morena and Orchha, which have been a couple of my favorite destinations within driving distance from Delhi.

Staying here was a real treat. The property is stunning, a beautifully maintained and perfectly adapted historic building. The room was spacious, with an en-suite bathroom and a small terrace with chairs and a table. Just above, there’s a majestic terrace with a breathtaking view of the Gwalior Fort.
The young staff managing the place are extremely kind, attentive, and always ready to help with any needs. If I were to return to Gwalior, this would definitely be the place I would choose to stay again.
This is my fourth time staying at Deo Bagh. It is my go-to hotel in Gwalior. The rooms are very comfortable and appointed with everything a guest could need and the gardens are lovely. Each room has a terrace overlooking the gardens, where in the evenings my travelling companions and I enjoy ice cold Kingfishers (self-provided) and a plate of masala peanuts prepared by the hotel.
I like the food they serve and the staff is very supportive they were humble and tried to fulfil the requirement.
