One of the holy place (Mahabaleshwar temple) in Southern India coastal belt with full greenery and beaches . Near by other important places like Murdeshwar and others , as it is attracting more pilgrims from other part of India it's developed would have been better than its current situation in terms of roads and other facilities . Anyway good to visit place.

Gokarna is a very quiet place.
Gokarna is a very quiet place. If you rent a scooter you will enjoy so much your stay driving everywhere. There are several beaches for all tastes, good spots for sunrises and sunsets and good local food.

Can't put my finger on it but it has a weird vibe- I think it's that there are a lot of restaurants along the beach, but they are quite deserted, so there is not much of a buzz and feels a bit eerie.
The main Gorkarna beach was quite dirty. Kudle beach was cleaner, but there was still a pile of rubbish to the side. Lots of cows on the beach so lots of cow poop.
There are some beautiful parts to it, but not worth it for me. I'd go to Goa instead.

Gokarna is the ideal place for leisure holidays.
Gokarna is the ideal place for leisure holidays. It offers a lot like temples, road trips, monuments but highlight for me was beachside treks. It's amazing experience, one must try.
Availability of bikes makes it very easy to travels and roads are with amazing view, you will cherish every minute you travel.
