Breakfast was ok. Not much variety as we were the only group in the entire resort. Place was very good. Resort area was in nice location and near to White Rann. Property is well maintained and clean but they need to take extra care of washroom which will add to the perfection.

RANN STAR VILLAGE STAY, hotel in Dhordo

Set in Dhordo, RANN STAR VILLAGE STAY offers a garden. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a children's playground.

I did not realize while booking, but this a family-owned and run resort by the locals: the accommodation was a traditional bhunga (circular mud house). Though initially we had some reservations, I think it was eventually a great experience. You would appreciate the technology behind the construction of these cottages which is cool inside during the hot day and warm inside during the cold night- almost as if centrally heated! You can have lizards inside once in a way, but you soon learn to accept them :). The owner/staff, Mr. Naveen, was enthusiastic and attended to us promptly. Breakfast and dinner were included, and were local preparations of the Kutch region, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

White Rann was the crown of all the places we visited.

White Rann was the crown of all the places we visited. The second-ranking goes to "Road to Heaven". Every tourist to Rann of Kutch must visit this place because it is a real wonder on the Earth. It gives you the feeling that your car is moving amid the infinite sea. The only difficulty is that the road is extremely narrow and traveler cars are many. However, this is tolerable in comparison to the bliss you derive from experiencing this "Road to Heaven". The site of the Harrapan civilization was very disappointing. Those who have a keen interest in history may like this place. Otherwise, it is a dull place.

Vibrant Gujrat sincerely needs to take care of cleanliness...

Vibrant Gujrat sincerely needs to take care of cleanliness 24x7. Tourists shouldn't be allowed to step on the white sand as it is a natural reservoir and is getting depleted day by day. Adventure sports shouldn't be allowed kn the desert. It should be a non spitting zone.

Dhordo Rann Utsav is an incredible celebration of the rich...

Dhordo Rann Utsav is an incredible celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat. I had the pleasure of attending this festival and was blown away by the vibrant and colorful atmosphere, cultural performances, and delicious food. The festival is held in the Rann of Kutch, a vast desert region that stretches across the border between India and Pakistan. The festival site is beautifully decorated with colorful lights, and a tent city is set up to accommodate guests. The tents are spacious, comfortable, and provide all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The cultural performances were a highlight of the festival. We were treated to a range of traditional dances, music, and other cultural activities that left us mesmerized. The local artisans also displayed their handicrafts, which we found to be quite fascinating. The food at Dhordo Rann Utsav was a true gastronomic delight. The local cuisine was delicious and offered a range of flavors that satisfied our taste buds. We particularly enjoyed the variety of snacks, sweets, and traditional dishes that were available. The festival also offered a range of activities and experiences, such as camel rides, paramotoring, and shopping for local handicrafts. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that we had an enjoyable and memorable experience. In summary, Dhordo Rann Utsav is a must-visit festival for anyone who wants to experience the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat. The festival offers a range of activities, cultural performances, and delicious food that are sure to leave you with unforgettable memories. I highly recommend attending this festival and exploring the unique and beautiful region of Rann of Kutch.

The place is just apt for an extended weekend.

The place is just apt for an extended weekend. I reached a day after the official rann utsav got over. The tent city was still there. But it would be a lot more fun if all the outside stalls were also open.
