Everything - from the location of the property (it's a forest like area) to the big room which was entirely made of pine woods to the bathroom to 1 extra cot to the balcony to the view of the entire Nanda devi range from the balcony to the welcoming and polite conduct of the owner Joshi ji as well as the manager Ishwar. We were a family of 3 visiting. This was the best stay in our entire Kumaon Trip. Thank you Joshi ji for making Chaukori memorable. The food is excellent. We ordered rice, plain dal, paneer, aloo fry for dinner. For breakfast, we had tea, aloo paratha, sabzi, aachar, half-boiled eggs, curd. They cooked the eggs just like we told them. Extra brownie points for that. The food is a bit on the costly side (the paneer dish cost us ₹400) but the taste and the staff's politeness won us over. There is a sunset and sunrise point nearby. A 10 min walk from the property through the forest. This is a must visit. It's a flat land with a lot of trees. We visited both at sunset and sunrise. There's a hanging rock from which you can see the entire range crystal clear with nothing in between.

Excellent location and staff hospitality. Food variety and quality (especially Kumaon dishes) was awesome. We were also guided to short treks near Misty. Heavy cloud cover didn't allow for mountain views for us but in better weather entire range from Nanda Ghanti to Panchchuli should be visible from the hotel lawns.
